POLL COMING

I'm making it multiple choice, so you can choose each that apply. :) GRRRR. Apparently I didn't make it multiple choice. Well, choose the best answer, I guess. Can you edit a poll?

I stopped working outside the home in 1998. Since then I did have a period of about 6 months where I did have a maid. I didn't like spending money on it *and* I really didn't care for the way it was done. I'm a "I'd rather do it myself so I know it's done to my liking" kind of person.

I'd rather save that money for other extras. My sons help out.

1 x month

It helps with all the extra cleaning

we both work
2 kids

We have a maid service come every other week. There are two of them and they do a lovely job. I feel like its my birthday every other thursday

If you are contemplating it, I highly recommend it. No vaccuming, toilet scrubbing..Its heaven

yes, I work a bit at home (2 kids in preschool, 1 on the way, stress "a bit"!), and find it helps keep things together for 2 reasons:
1. they do a good job on the big stuff (out kitchen floor is off white and a beast to clean)
2. I know I have to pick up things that tend to "creep" out before they get here, so the overall level of cleanliness is better.
definitly worth the money for us:)

:rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2: Housekeeper...that's too funny. I guess I'm the "Housekeeper" since I'm the one that keeps the kids from burning and/or tearing it down on a daily basis.:rotfl2:

We don't have one.

But...when I was growing up, my mom had a housekeeper come once a week. My clean-freak mom cleaned the house before she came because she didn't want the house to be "dirty":confused3 . So when the housekeeper came for the day all she did was sit around and talk on our phone.

We're thinking about hiring one to come every other week when I go back to work p/t in the fall. We got an estimate from Molly Maids and it was very reasonable. The idea of having someone in my home when no one is here makes me a bit uneasy though.

I am a SAHM so I feel like it's my job but with two little ones I just hate it these days! I feel like I can never stay caught up with it and have almost considered hiring help to help me!

I am a SAHM now, but ran my own home based business before I gave birth 3 weeks ago to our 4th child. Funny to see this poll, because this afternoon I just got so frustrated, I am a "Clean Freak, Type A, OCD kinda gal" and I vaccuum/wash floors every single day and I can't keep up anymore, 1 newborn, 2 preschoolers and an older daughter that is involved in every activity imaginable and hubby, oldest daughter coach a team too......the lady is coming to quote me tomorrow!!! YAY!!!:cool1: I can hardly wait, hubby smokes so this will be my vice I say!!! ;)

We have someone who comes and cleans every other week. I am thinking about getting someone different though because I am sure there are better cleaners out there, but it is pretty inexpensive compared to what other people tell me thyey pay. I have three kids. DH and I both work, but not really at the same time. I teach from Sept. to June and he runs a seafood place from May to September. My vote in the poll was both of us hated to clean.:lmao:

I would love to have someone come in and clean my house!!!! We cant afford it so I guess that leaves me to do it:sad2:
:laundy: :laundy: :laundy: Im off to do MORE laundry!!!

Both DH and I work full time and we have two kids. We have a cleaning service come in every other week. I'm not completely satisfied with the job they do, but it's better than me pulling my hair out because I don't have time to clean! It's worth it just for cleaning the bathrooms and washing the floors! Now if I could have someone do my laundry and ironing . . .:rolleyes1

Ok I voted yes, but only one of works (outside of the home). But I'm a SAHM and it is work! I have a service that comes every other week. It really helps to have the big jobs taken care of so that I can just focus on the daily pick up and surface cleaning.

Yes I do! I have a cleaning person come in every other week. I am a single mom with one child and after she was born I decided I didn't want to spend my weekends cleaning. I work full time and it is the best $ I spend!!! I don't know what I would do without a cleaning person! She only comes every other week because my house doesn't get that dirty in a week. I clean the bathrooms in between and sometimes I run the sweeper over the floors. At first I thought it was very extravagant but heck I desire a break.
:tinker:

I have a at home business and have become very busy, so Every other week my sister comes over and and does some of my deep cleaning. I am very picky and anyone else would quit;) It works out pretty well since she is a single mother and likes the extra money and of course my niece comes over to play and I don't have to let any strangers in my home.

I don't have a housekeeper come in, but, I've been thinking about it for quite some time. I haven't a clue as to how much they charge. Anyone out there willing to tell me how much a once a week cleaning will cost me?

Thanks

We had a service twice a month - had to let them go due to finances...:sad2:
When things pick up - they are first on the list to call. We both work fulltime and have a 6 yo son....
