Yes, we sit down as a family at the table every night. Our only exception is pizza/movie night where we sit in front of the tv, but we are all still together.

I think we are going to attempt to get all of us together 2-3 times a week other times just probably wont happen with the kiddos activities, etc....

We (meaning whoever is home at dinner time) eat together at the table every night. We have done this forever....even when it was just DH and I! We very very rarely ate in front of the TV. (like, maybe for the Super Bowl, but that's it!)

My DH started working evening hours, over the dinner time, and my boys have had a really hard time adjusting! (and they are tween/teen!!). They really really miss our time to catch up as a family without interruption. (we don't answer the phone during dinner, either....)

Many reasons...

We aren't all home at the same time.

The table is too full of stuff to sit down at.

We would rather eat on the couch with tv trays and watch tv together.

Like I said, we are a very close family that loves to do things together, but eating together just isn't a big deal to us.

My family likes to watch tv together too...but not at meal times. To me, you lose the opportunity for uninterrupted time and meaningful conversation with each other if you are distracted by the tv. At least, my kids would not listen to a word I said if I was trying to talk to them while they watched tv!
