Do you do your own taxes?

So, when it comes to doing taxes, what kind of person are you? Do you tackle it yourself? (by you I mean you or your spouse). Or do you have a family member (such as brother-in-law, or parent, etc...) or close friend do them for you? Or do you pay somebody for the privilege of doing them for you?
We pay somebody ever year. As missionaries, our taxes are a bit different then most (a lot of personal v. ministry expenses, per diems, travel, donations, etc...) but to make sure they are done correctly (the law often changes in regards to what we owe / don't owe) we pay a man who works at our mission board do them for us.
What about you? What kind of tax person are you?

I'm a self turbo taxer. My three kids and my house are my only exemptions for now, so it's pretty easy.

We used to have a professional do our taxes until we got a computer and started using Turbo Tax. The first year we did Turbo Tax and too them to our accountant and what he figured matched what Turbo Tax did so we just started using Turbo Tax. This year though, boy, their programmers must have fallen asleep mid-program because we have had a lot of issues with them this year.

We use to go to H&R Block but after they charged us $250 last year we decieded to do it online through H&R Block. $39.99 well spent. We should have a return in 2 weeks time.

I do them myself, with Turbo Tax, which is a godsend, because this year we have six returns to file (just realized yesterday that our kids have to file )

We have a professional do them - we started doing this because a couple years ago we had a lot of different things going on (inheritance, moving expenses, etc.) and I wasn't sure if I "trusted" Turbo Tax with all that.

HECK NO I don't do my own taxes. DH and I go through H&R Block.

Dh does ours. He is an accountant so it is his 'thing'.

Yes, we do, at least for now. They're getting pretty complicated, so we might be having DW's firm do them in the future.

Yup, I do my own. After going to H&R Block for a couple of years and realizing I was paying them too much, I decided to do them myself. It looked fairly easy, I work in accounting and my taxes are not difficult. I want to keep all my money in my pocket. Now if I decide to start my own business, then of course I will have a professional do it for me.

I used to do them and then DH would double check my work (he's a tax attorney). But, last year, I made a mistake for a decent sum I thought we were getting back ....NOT!

This year, DH can do them himself or send them out, I don't care. My days of doing tax returns are over!

I use turbo tax and do them myself. Already filed, in fact! Should have the refunds by late next week! Our tax situation is quite simple, just deductions for the house and donations, so no reason to pay someone to do them.

H&R Block all the way. The fee from last year, is just one more tax deduction for this years filling.

I do mine online myself! I don't do much work though just plug in the numbers and the program calculates everything for me.

I'm impressed. There's a lot more do-it-yourselfers than I would have thought.

I do it all by myself. I fill out the PAPER forms and use a pen and a calculator...

My taxes are fairly simple with just mortgage interest, property tax and state taxes as deductions. One income with a simple W2. It takes me about half an hour to fill out both federal and state forms.

We own a business with employees, we pay a professional.
