Is it a trap? If so, it is insidious!!! Here is how we got caught. How about you? :listen:

Our first planned trip to WDW we drove down and spent 5 days in the World.
We then waited 14 years before we could afford it again, but then we went crazy!
Our second planned trip we flew down on Sat morning and spent 7 days in the World. Then we thought why waste a Saturday getting settled when we could fly out Friday night. SOOO.....
Our third planned trip we flew out Friday night and spent 8 days in the World. Then we thought we could take a personal day on Friday and fly out in the morning!!!! So our next trip we flew out at o'dark thirty Friday morning! and stayed 9 days.:earboy2:
But of course then we didn't want to waste a whole personnel day so on our fifth, you got it, we flew out Thurs. night and spent 10 days in the World.
Now, we are planning to leave Thursday morning and spend almost 11 days in the World!!!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Maybe we should just move!!!!! :cheer2:

It is a trap, of the very best kind. I'm pretty sure most everybody here has done something similiar - no matter how long we spend at Disney it's never enough and the next time we squeeze a few more hours, etc out of the trip.

Guess that's what make us all "special".

No, but I wish I could go all of those times for that amount of time.

:flower: I agree, it's a nice trap ...

I got caught, too :paw:

That's why I'm gonna stay 21 days in Orlando (not only Disney) next January ... :cool1:

Its not a trap, its just a wonderful place, where people have a great, nay magical time.

We are from the UK and the cost is made even more prohibitive by the airfares from London to Orlando, (my estimate is you are lucky to get a price for return flights less than $3000 for two grown ups, a 16 year old and an eleven year old), its always tempting to just get one way tickets!

Thats why we go every 2 or 3 years, rather than annually. In the past we have spent 14 days, and found it hard to squeeze in all of Disney and Universal, Seaworld and Busch Gardens. Heck I have never seen the white sands on the west coast, or hardly touched a WDW hotel pool.

This year we too have fallen into the "trap"!!!! We have booked 21 days!!

Lordy, we have break days, shopping days, a day down at the St. Pete's area, goodness i don't know if I can cope.

Also, we are a counter service or Bennigans/TGI family usually (all the cash gone paying for the flights) but this year we have 8 (eight) ADRs!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Chef Mickey's, Boma, Le Cellier, 1900 Park Fare, Hard Rock Cafe, Rainforest Cafe, ESPN, San Angel Inn, and Victoria & Alberts here we come...(no just kidding about V&A but I wish).... I usually lose 8 pounds from all the walking on our trips to WDW but i reckon the table service will put paid to that unexpected benefit. Do I care...... oh no!!!

One great reason for this massive show of extravagence is that the £/$ rate is now 25% better than in 2002! Last time $100 cost me £71, this year it'll cost me £57. It almost pays for the additional week's extra spending money....almost.

Having said all of that this vacation amounts to about 25% of our combined annual take home income. But its well worth it.

WDW is not a trap, but it is a wonderful product that people are willing to pay top dollar for over and over again ..................

(and it is, of course, MAGICAL).

So the short answer to your question is YES !!!!! ROFL

My DH and I just had this same conversation the other night. Since we only live about 3 hours south of the mouse, we were going to get up around 5a and drive up. Since our little talk we now are going up the night before when he gets home from work an stay off site so we can be at MK by 9am.

Hey Paul Pierce, If you got the time you might want to check out St. Augustine. It is pretty nice if you like historic places (we do). But ever since our first trip we never seem to get off property. The MAGIC for us is the suspension of belief. We literally leave all our stress and problems at home and go, go, go. :cool1:

Of course we want to continue to add a day here and there! :teeth:

Let's see. 6 day honeymoon, 7 day first trip with the boys, 10 day Christmas trip, 6 day ( DH changed jobs and he had a week off, and we had the APs so why not), 12 day birthday trip ( turned into 16 because of Rita ). Looks like we do it too. :earsboy:

You are right, and we will be moving down in about two years. Can't stay away much longer.

I confess.

First trip was in '78 for 2 days. I didn't get back until I was a grown-up in '98. Then it was 5 days at All Star Sports. Just three parks then, but still not enough time. Never thought i'd get back. Then '01 comes and we get a Marriott promo to come down for 4 days (extended to 6). Buy a timeshare and you can come down annually? Heck yes!

Since then it has been one week a year in March. Bring the family, 17 of us in all. But this year we sprung for AP's and planned two trips (March then May). May got cancelled so we scheduled October and made it a two week trip. 14 full days in the world. Ah such bliss. :D

Rode the autotrain down, got here before the room was ready so we hopped over to EPCOT for lunch. First week is grand and carefree. So much time. Second week you start to feel the depression and pressure to cram it all in.

We took a day to head to SeaWorld but that only added pressure and Disney-Withdrawal. Headed to Magic Kingdom yesterday and now we feel refressed and ready.

Oh I hate to leave this place (got to Sunday). Heaven must surely be like this.
