Do you do on line reservations for a handicap room?

I've always called for a handicap reservation. I have a lot of requests and I just somehow feel better doing it that way. I know all the requests may not happen, but I feel better talking to an actual person when I do it. It has helped; because, I do get all or most of the special requests usually. One request can't be handled by the website and it's an absolute necessity.

Anyway, I would like to know how you do it? Do you call only? Do you do it strictly on line? Or do you do a combination online and then calling, too for a handicap room booking?

I find using the website nicer, but if I have to call anyway I feel it's useless to start on line and then call, too.

I received a pin code and there's a link for it now that you can even do those discount codes on line. One person stated it took 45 of phone waiting before she got a cast member for her ressie. This is why I'm thinking about doing a combo of online first and then phone for special requests for a booking. But then I feel it might muddy up the water to do it that way. I feel it's nice to see many different room options and such on line before making a final decision.

So, how do you do it?

I find that when I travel (Disney or otherwise) I will make my reservation online to take advantage of special Internet rates. Then once I have the confirmation number I will call the reservations line to book the accessible room as most reservations systems will not guarantee an accessible room when booked online but will modify the reservation once you have talked to an agent.

I always use a travel agent. It doesn't cost me any extra, and then I get what I want and someone else gets to be on the phone with Disney!

I usually book online and then call as I want to secure the room and rate before any special offers fill up. Only once has an accessible room NOT been available at the resort I'd chosen but then I just chose a different one. It's true that you will end up on hold anyway as they have to contact special services to block the room but it doesn't take any longer than if you phoned to start with. I agree with Bete- I like to explore my options and know what my price is ahead of time.---Kathy
