Do you do anything to your stroller?

Do you mark you strollers at all or put anything on it so you can recognize it when you come out of a ride or to make it a little less likey to be stolen?

We are taking our stroller with us in September and a few tips that I have learned through this board:

*Tie a bright color ribbon on your handle to recognize it easier

*a women once tied what looked like a folded up dirty diaper in a bag and hung it on her handle - no one wanted her stroller thinking it was their! I thought this was cute!

*Another actually put their name/address underneath the stroller. Then if someone thought they grabbed the "right" one but it ended up being theirs then you can prove it. I am doing this for sure.

I am anxious to hear if anyone else has any ideas. I am not sure, yet, what I am going to put on my stroller to recognize it in a sea of strollers.

Have fun!

We take a personalized license plate and some zip ties and attach it to our stroller (and one to DH's ECV). This way there are no mix ups. We've never had an issue. :)

I decorated a plain lime green luggage tag with Disney stickers and put out information on the tag. The green was easy to spot and we never had any trouble at all.

I had my artistic Dad strategically create "racing stripes" on the handle and legs with colored Duct tape, then write our name and phone number on the leg stripes with a Sharpie.

Our stroller will be decorated w/ lime green mickey heads and lights at night. We have some of the light up necklaces from disney and I buy the glow stick necklaces and wrap them around. I also have a disney luggage (sp?) tag hanging on the handle. You may want to consider if you have small sauder (sp?) gun at home or know someone w/ one etch your name in a so visible spot on the stroller.

Last year I bought some bright multi-colored yarn at the dollar store and crocheted kind of like a 12 inch. mini scarf to tie around our stroller handle. I'm not the best at crochet, but nobody had anything like it - it was easy to spot.

I put a big, plastic luggage tag (from Stuck on You) shaped like a flower on the stroller. And I wrote DH's cell phone number in case the stroller wanders off. I did read how someone put address info on the bottom of the stroller, and Disney mailed it back to them. I might do that, too.

Our Maclaren is Lime Green and we can see it in any crowded sea of dark blue! It just screams here I am and that is why we bought it. It matches my lime green crocs, and lime green bagalline.

I think it is the best solution as no one would even want to steal our stroller.

I took a big black permanent marker and wrote our last name on ours. If it's stolen there is no way they will get it off so it will be easier to identify. The idea about brightly colored ribbon is good too.

I also go to the fabric store and pick out a brightly colored ribbon- sometimes with a print- to tie on our stroller. I also use the same ribbon to tie onto our pieces of luggage so that when we are looking for them on the luggage carosel they are easier to find. I stick a return address label on the lower bar of our stroller just in case there were to be a disagreement with someone about whose stroller it really is. I have never had this problem though.

My MIL made some luggage tags for DS with his first name only on them. I'm going to strap one of these on the handle and also put one on the diaper bag. I may get her to do some with our cell phone numbers. That way if anything is lost (not stolen, but actually lost) we might get a call and be re-united.

My plan is to first buy a new one! :goodvibes

Second we have these really cute Captain Jack Sparrow bandanas (one has fake hair!) and tie those to the handle. That way it is something my child is going to wear when we get over to POTC anywho, and it can serve two purposes!

We will be:

Using a Dremel tool to etch our name into one of the underside bars

Using brightly colored grip tape (we have lots for tennis rackets) on the handlebar

Most likely we'll use a brightly colored bike lock to 'lock' the front wheel in place to the frame of the stroller (can still be moved, as required for CM's, but only by tilting it back onto the rear wheels - we figure no one would mistakenly, or inconspicuously, do that!)

HTH!

I took red Mickey head alphabet scrapbook stickers and put my daughter's first and last name on the stroller frame. I think I'll also put the address on the bottom, and suggested earlier in this thread.

We also tie a bright yellow bandana to our stroller. We have been using the same one for the last 3 years. Last year we actually saw someone with a stroller that had a bright yellow bandana too and I had to laugh. Must have been a Dis-er!:thumbsup2

Last two years we used permanent marker across the hood and sides. No way anyone could mistake it as theirs. This year, doing the same thing with our Tandem stroller, however, we're using Washable Markers.

This only works if you can get along without a "fancy" stroller. We had gotten rid of our strollers but our first two trips we needed one for our youngest because we knew she couldn't do that much walking. She was 5 or 6 but still very petite. Both times I shopped at garage sales for older model umbrella strollers in decent shape. Both times I found one for under $8. They were old enough that they were easy to spot in a crowd, certainly nothing fancy beyond a sun shade and a basket underneath. When we were leaving we passed it on to another family just arriving.
