I just made ADR for Le Cellier on Valentine's Day and when the cast member asked if we were celebrating anything I immediately said 'Yes, an anniversary'. When she was going back over the reservation she said 'a romantic table for 5' (DH's parents and my mom will be there too). We talked small talk about the Beach Club Villa's, Cape May Cafe and the DVC annual pass discount and then at the end of the call she said 'I hope you have a very special anniversary.' Just by the tone in her voice it was like she was up to something. Now I'm expecting NOTHING special from the restaurant, just good food and service. However now I feel guilty about mentioning an anniversary that maybe no-one but DH and I celebrate. (just a little background here... I'll try to keep it short...
DH worked with my sister, her Birthday is Valentine's Day and she had a party at a local bar that night. DH came to the party with a date, saw me at the end of the table and made some lame excuse to my sis and they left. He took his date home and immediately came back to the bar. Well of course I was gone by the time he got back. Two days later when he saw my sister again he started asking questions about me. She called me from work, on speaker phone, and started asking me questions, was I serious about anyone, would I ever date a co-worker of hers, did I have plans that Sat. night? Then she asks if she can give someone my number. Not 5 minutes after I hung up the phone it starts ringing again and it's my DH asking me out on a date. (I honestly did not remember him from the party! Damn alcohol!) After a rough start (I was a vegetarian, he knew it but still took me to a steakhouse.) we became insepratable and now have been together 12 years and married for 7.
So now back to my original question... Do you celebrate the anniversary of your first date? or are we the only dorks out there doing this?

at me.
We got married three years to the day from our first date. In a way, we still celebrate both.

What a movie to take a first date to....one where she ends up in your lap!!
So in about 2 months, DH and I will be celebrating 18 years together and then on May 22nd we will be celebrating 15 years of marriage!
I say happy first anniversary, he returns the sentiment and that's that. Sometimes a cute little stuffed animal might make into the house by way of DH or myself, but the BIG day is made on the day we got married, that's when I go all out on planning our trips and things of the such!
