Do you buy extra park tickets or just what you need?

We are planning a trip for May/2007. I still have 1 park hopper ticket left over from my last trip (purchased no Exp.) and I also have 3 water park/disneyquest tickets left over. I am trying to price out my new package and I figured that this time I want to stay for 10 nights/11 days but we are going to relax at the resort more this time and not go comando at the parks. I plan to use the 3 leftover waterpark tickets and the 1 park hopper so should I only purchase a 5 day parkhopper ticket with my package? Since we are staying so many days I am trying to cut costs as much as I can.

What do you usually do...buy extra tickets for your next trip or do you just buy what you need for this trip?

TIA,

Loralie

DH and I bought 10-day nonexpiring hoppers last year. We used 5 days. We also have 1-day each left on 4-day hoppers from 2004. We will probably use all 6 days this November. We did purchase, however, new 10-day nonexpiring hoppers from Undercover Tourist on Satuday before the prices went up. Last year the 10-day tickets cost $661 w/our package through Disney. Today the same 10-day tickets would cost approx $877 through Disney but we paid $750 through Undercover Tourist! IMO, if you plan on going back and you can manage it, it is better to buy as much ticket as you can afford becase the prices don't go down! This was the second price increase on tickets this year!!

We just buy what we need for the trip (usually 8 or 9 day trips) - and buy expiring tickets. I still have lots of "options" left on a few old tickets, and lug them around every trip, just in case.

But we're good with the expiring park hoppers for each trip.

Now if I was planning on a few short (say three or four day trips), then I would buy the 10 day tickets, non-expiring.

We all had 2 days left on old hoppers (and lots of pluses still on even older passes) but we bought 10 day non expiry hopper passes for our trip last year. We used 4 of the days on the new passes and used up our 2 days on the other ones. Now we have 6 days left which is perfect for our next trip. I'm glad we got them as it's nice not having the expense of buying tickets for this trip and ticket prices have gone up twice since we bought them last year.

When we planned our trip this year, I bought 1 extra day just in case, and because it really isn't that much more $$ to buy more days once you start. Well we ended up deciding to head to the park the night we get there since there is extra magic hours.

The price may go up for tickets, but it is more expensive to buy the non-expiration date tickets so just weigh your options.

In January we bought 10 day non-expiring and I still have 10 days plus my most of my extras (less 1 for TL). My niece, a DL CM was with us so I got in free to the parks but I wanted to take advantage of her discount to buy the 10 day ticket. (She left DL in July :sad2: to go to grad school in Utah.) I also bought on for my DD. My mom bought one too-but since we had 1 extra adult (CM can only get 3 people in and we were a party of 4 plus CM) she's used up a few days.

We also have some unused extra options, and park admissions, on non-expiring tickets which we bought a few years ago and upgraded from the orginal 6 days we bought to 10 days, last Sept.

We won't have to buy any tickets this time, and we'll save the MYW one day base ticket we bought (for free dining) to use in the future.

We always buy non-expiring, park hopper. Even if we don't buy a 10 day originally, we will upgrade it before we use it up.

That's how we do it. :goodvibes
