They are always taking your picture at Disney.

At MK, we had it taken with Pooh and Minnie. DS got his taken with Tigger and then handed us a card.

At Epcot we had a picture of other DS taken at Spacechip Earth.

It cracked me up, at Typhoon Lagoon, while on the lazy river, "Smile" and someone standing in the water takes your picture and hand you a waterbraclet w/number on it.

Of course we bought a lot of them - all the ones that turned out! They were kinda expensive but not in a "rip off" way. Unfortunatley a great picture of DD in MGM was overexposed so we didn't buy it.

My all time favorite was the family photo at Chef Mickey's! Thanks to hearing it here on these boards I was able to get every looking good(dressed up better than the average day!) and it turned out great.

I am curious if anyone buys the photos?

I always buy the good ones. My boys are 3 & 5 and it is difficult to get a good picture. It is so hard for me to pass up the good ones since they don't come along too often!!!!! Usually, we get about 3 or 4 each trip. I am hoping for a great family one in November. We seem to never get a good one with all of us. :(

I have bought the one in front of Cindy's Castle at MK and on Splash Mtn. I take my own pictures with the characters and usually just keep the receipt cards they give us to use in my scrapbook. :D

My dh and I almost always buy at least the one of us at each park's entrance. For a couple traveling alone it's one of the only ways to get a picture together. I have taken to carrying a disposable camera with me too - my camera and lens that I use in the parks would cost me $750 to replace so I have a hard time handing it off to a well-meaning stranger. If it was accidentally dropped you couldn't blame them - they were being nice. But I'll hand over a disposable in a heart beat and it's been nice having a few more pictures of the two of us together.

We usually buy a couple each time we go. When we are there with my sister and her family we have gotten some really good pictures of all 9 of us. It makes you smile when you look back and remember how much fun you had. Then you start planning the next trip:D

Can someone tell me how much they've paid recently for the park photos? I've always passed them up in the past, but this is going to be my husbands first trip in 20+ years and I'd love to get some good photos of us together. Just wanted an idea of how much to budget. Thanks!!

5x7's are $12.00, but you can buy packages also. They are fun to get!!

They got us one time at Chef Mickeys, they told us to stand in front of the giant plate with some forks and knives. Boy was I ever sorry we bought those! Every time we go they tell us to go stand in line for your picture, we just say no thanks we already have them. I do have the one from The Dinosaur ride,my son was so scared he buried his face in my lap. We always laugh at that one. And going down Splash mountain with my mom, who at the time was 80 yrs old, those photos are priceless.:Pinkbounc

I buy any picture that turns out really good, even if we took the same picture with our own camera. I would rather pay for a picture that I know is good then wait and see if ours turns out! We ran into Beast in France at Epcot on our last trip, and no other guests were around. The photographer took two pictures with his camera, and then two pictures with ours. One of the ones he took with his camera turned out great so we bought it. When we got our film developed, the ones taken with our camera didn't look nearly as good. I was so glad we'd gone ahead and bought the picture!

We bought the package from the parks - 1 5x7 and 4 wallets for $16.96 plus tax ($18.01 if I remember correctly).

All in all we probably spent over $100 on various photos. My DH always says "What may seem like a lot to spend on photos now, many years from now we'll be very happy we did". So now I go along with him.

I am a sucker for good pictures... Can't pass them up!! FYI... last time we were there, we were told they hold them for 4 days in the computer and if you buy more than one set, you get even bigger discount... don't know if this is still true, but worth a thought...

We have bought a few over the years. Only the ones we think look "really" good, or ones where we ended up with a funny expression when we weren't trying. We always at least look at the ones taken on the rides, and if we remember the ones taken in the fronts of the parks.

Can these pictures be charged to the room or would we need to have cash to pay for them?

Also, can you have them delivered to the room?

Thanks,
Carol

I know they can be charged to your room card but I am unsure about delivery to your resort...

We buy the pictures. We rarely get a picture with all of us in it so when I see one I feel compelled to buy it, lol. Yes they are expensive but I love looking back at them.

Not only can you get pictures delivered to your resort but you can get almost anything you can stuff in a bag delivered. I once wanted to shed an armful of heavy jackets we had worn in the cool morning hours. So I went into a giftshop, asked the nice lady for an empty bag, stuffed in the jackets, and filled out the delivery tag with resort and room number...off it went. The bag was in our room when we got back that evening.

And the best pictures we got were the ones from the Disney Cruise. They were expensive but much more enjoyable than any giftshop trinket I might have otherwise bought.;)

We usually buy most of the attraction photos and the character ones. We look at it as those are our souveniers, not more tee shirts!!! We have never had them done at the entrances to the parks. How have I missed those??? We have a wall in our office/den that has all our WDW professional photos on it. We call it our 'wall of fun'!!
Also, while you can have them shipped back to your resort, I believe they only deliver to your room if you're staying concierge. Otherwise, the package goes to your resort gift shop. But that worked for us.

We've bought the one from the Judge's Tent at Toontown and one of our family in front of the castle. This year I would like to get pictures of us in front of the Tree of Life, Spaceship Earth and the Sorceror's Hat. I would be willing to buy those because they are so hard to get good ones yourself! I had every intention of buying one of ds with Woody and Buzz at MGM, then forgot to go by and purchase it!:o Anyway, we've bought a few before and I'm sure we'll buy more!:D

I normally don't buy them. I always figure for the cost, I can take a whole lot of pics and surely something will turn out. BUT, this year I did purchase one of us on test track since there is no way to get a picture of that. I also broke down and bought one of my dd's with Pooh and Piglet together. It was too cute to turn down. One night as we were leaving MK and stopped to look at the pictures, I had something like 13 pics to look at. Fortunately, the Pooh/Piglet pic was the only outstanding one!

I love a great photo of our family:D We try to purchase at least one photo of all of us. It's a great way to bring the magic back home.
