Do you bring your coupons on vacation?

I can't stand going into a store to grab an item only to realize that I had a coupon for that item that I forgot at home. These days, I try to keep my coupons in my car for those last minute shopping trips. I'm debating wether or not to take mine.

-When you go to Disney, with plans of hitting the grocery store, do you lug your coupons with you?

-What grocery stores are in the area? We are staying at Windsor Palms

-Do stores there offer double coupons?

Thanks!

If I was staying in a condo and cooking my own meals then yes I would bring coupons for the items that I planned on buying. Food can be crazy expensive in any resort area. I would however make a food plan in advance and just buy what I needed as opposed to scouting out super deals.

A little different than what you're mentioning but I certainly WISH I'd brought mine on our recent trip to Oahu. I'd done tons of research on activities beforehand and had found lots of coupons and discounts on-line. I didn't print them because I mistakenly assumed I'd find the same or better in the tourist information magazines. I ended up missing out on a bunch of bargains as I didn't have time to sit in the hotel's business centre and try to find them all again. Lesson learned. Coupons don't take up much space - might as well take 'em if ya got 'em.

I used to bring coupons when we stayed offsite. We have stayed in Windsor Palms, Rolling Hills & Indian Creek. All in same area off Formosa Gardens Blvd.
We also owned a timeshare at Summer Bay further down 192. It's a very convenient area.
I only brought coupons for what I knew I'd be buying though. It's not like buying things on sale to stockpile for later like you can at home. I didn't have a huge binder full like a friend of mine did; she was really good at it. I don't remember if they double them but still worth using.
There's a Publix nearby. From Formosa Gardens Blvd, just turn left onto Rt. 192 and it's not far down on the right, less than a mile or so.

Also you'll pass a Chick Fil A on your right that used to have a special on Tuesdays that you can sing for your supper. If you're willing to sing for at least a minute, your meal would be free. They had a microphone & a guy playing guitar. I was too chicken. :lmao:

I did and even though my husband was doing this  when I told him my plan he did this  when he saw that I saved $28 on our target run.

I have young kids, so I still have to buy diapers and baby food and things like that, along with food and snacks for the timeshare. I made a list of what we were going to need before I left on vacation, so I wouldn't be wandering around the store overwhelmed or accidentally forget anything, so it was easy to just pick out the coupons I had for things that were on the list.

I put the coupons in an envelope, paper clipped it to the list, and it was easy-peasy to use my coupons.

I buy a box of envelopes to sort and store my coupons. Each envelope holds its own category and i have about 25-30. They fit perfect back in the envelope box. it is so handy. I like to take all the coupons along in case I come across a great clearance deal. On a typical trip, I save 50% consistently off my total bill.

I did bring my coupons last August - we stayed at Sabal Palms for most of the trip (a few nights at Grande Vista first). There was a CVS right outside of Sabal Palms so we did run into there for a few things from time to time, but did the bulk of our shopping at Walmart and Target I think.

I saved maybe $40 or so, but I wasn't sure what we would need really.

I have a coupon wallet thing so it's all organized - used to do the binder thing but cut down on my coupon shopping lately (too busy really!).

I am pretty sure Florida grocery stores don't double like they do here in Maryland, but still you can save some if it's stuff you need anyway for meals and toiletries.

It would be a good idea a few days before a trip to see what's on sale at the local grocery stores. That way you can plan meals ahead of time (like at home) based on sales. Then see if you have any good coupons to use. I wouldn't take too much time on vacation to do a ton of coupon shopping, though!

Does anyone know if the chain restaurants like Steak n Shake accept coupons in the Disney area? I've got lots of Restaurant coupons, but I know that sometimes tourist areas don't accept them. ( ran into this when I tried to use Subway coupons in St Augustine)

I was also going to suggest looking at the ads just before you leave to see what is on sale. I like Publix when I go to Florida. Not sure if they are particularly inexpensive, but they seem to be reasonable for most things.

I bring some, but not my whole binder.

I save coke points all year, and cash them out for either individual bottles or 12 packs, and use those for our Disney trip. I also start looking the month before we go for any online restaurant coupons I can print - not so much for Disney itself, but for the airport, as well as for ordering pizza one night.

My parents generally do a WalMart trip before we all arrive, and when I give them the grocery list, I also include the coupons for specific items.

I do if we are going grocery shopping. I make a list ahead of time and bring the corresponding coupons. We generally order from Garden Grocer though.

I don't generally shop for groceries on vacation at Disney or anywhere else, but I do take restaurant coupons along. We get coupons for Ruby Tuesday and Logan's Roadhouse a lot, but don't have either one in our city, but if I know we're going out of town before the expiration, I'll clip them and put them in the coupon stash in my car.

To the OP, no, Florida stores don't double coupons. And if you go to Publix (where I shop), if the item is "buy one get one free," you must buy two. The second one triggers the discount of the full price of the item; they're not each 50% off. However, if an item is 2/$5, each one is $2.50.

I take grocery and fast food coupons on vacation.

I have a Winn-Dixie loyalty card that I only use in Orlando since we don't have that store at home.
On my last trip, I saw that I have saved $150 at Winn-Dixie over the last several years.

Yep, we bring our coupons to use at Whole Foods or Publix :thumbsup2

Here is the page of the Publix closest to WP.

If it doesn't say Orange Lake Town Center for "your store" at the top, here is the address to look for in the Store Locator.
14928 E Orange Lake Blvd Kissimmee, FL 34747
(407) 239-4989

I bring coupons, find local coupons for activities to do. Pennies make dollars and dollars make you holler!
