We brought our own.

We stayed at the value resort and to be honest we did not get our room cleaned as often as we had hoped. Sometimes they cleaned it while we were eating breakfast and other days it was not cleaned at all.

Becuase of this, we often did not have enough towels or they were dirty from showering. We were happy to have seperate swimming towles that we had brought.

Also the towels are not large, kind of minimal bath towel size, so having a larger towel for swimming was nice :)

Have fun!!

I used to always bring our own towels for the pool, but now with the airlines charging so much we just opted to leave them at home. I might include towels in the box we ship down to the resort next year, though.

We just bring hotel towels and dry clothes. That way, you don't need so many towels. We make sure to bring the towels back to the hotel too. We went to BB last week and brought two towels for the four of us. Our kids have those hooded terry cloth jackets for after swimming, and I just brought them clean sweatpants and underwear. They wore those and their hoodies (and their wet water shoes) back to the hotel on the bus.

I am bringing my own to Disney when we go. I did however purchase some of those travel space savers so that I can put them in it and hopefully it won't be too thick or heavy when we fly down in a few weeks.

We just grab towels by the pool at our resort before heading to the waterpark.

This trip we are going to bring our own because we are going to the beach for a day and want bigger beach towels, but it the first time in 14 trips that we will be bringing towels.

I was planning on renting towels for my husband & I at the waterparks, and bringing down towels from our room for the resort's pool.

However, I was also planning on letting the kids purchase a towel at DTD on our first day as a souvenior. But then I read a thread where someone said their new towels were stolen from a waterpark? Now I can't decide. I'm wondering how often that happens... :confused3

Do the resorts have towels out for guests to use at their pools then? I thought we would have to bring our own, or at least bring them down from the room.

Bringing towels on a plane is too much weight esp. if they are still wet.
They only time we take towels now is when we drive to HHI.

:cool1:

All the moderate and deluxe resorts have towels at the pool, as well as the DVC resorts. Usually there are carts of towels out at the values, but not always.

The pool towels are a different design than the room towels, they are a smidge larger and have ribs in them. But the pool towels are all the same, regardless of which resort you get them.

So do you all think it would be rude to take towels from the hotel pool to the waterpark and leave them there when we're done? We are going to DTD after the waterpark and it would be nice not to have to lug wet towels around. I'm assuming they would have no trouble getting the towels back to a resort??

No it isn't rude and we do it all the time. The pool towels at the water parks are the same as the resorts. They all get picked up and taken to the central laundry facility and washed together with the resort towels and then packed back up into the green rolling carts and distributed around WDW. They are all the same so it doesn't really matter.

Wonderful! Thanks for the tip!

Don't they have towels at the waterparks? (We've only been once, but I know we didn't bring towels with us.)

Last year we brought new Disney beach towels with us that our kids used for blankets during the 23 hour trip there. I had intended to let them use them during the trip and do a load of laundry before we went home, but they decided to leave their nice towels in the van and just use the towels provided by the hotel for the pools.

My understanding is the waterparks have towels but you rent them for $2.

Not so much really but it does add up. 4 of us x $2 each = $8 x 2 waterparks = $16.

If we go back to a waterpark a 3rd or 4th time, then $24 or $32.

I'm going to do what the PP does and snag towels from our resort pool then :goodvibes

I thought you were supposed to pay for them. :upsidedow

The one time we went, older DD and I split up from DH to do a few of the bigger rides. When we met back up with him he had a stack of towels. I asked him why he had so many and how much they cost and he said the CM just handed them to him and said they were free. I thought he just had met a nice CM who took pity on a father with two screaming pre-schoolers, but I wasn't sure. ;)

Heck, no! If you need more towels, call housekeeping! When I make my reservations I have them put a note that, for pool purposes, we would like double bath towels and washclothes every day. I repeat the request when we check in. We've never been short on towels.

If, for some reason, you don't get enough, call the desk and they'll have housekeeping bring more right away!
