My friend has a Gorillapod. He actually wrapped the legs of it around his motorcycle handles while he drove on a windy road! (He wasn't going fast) He loves it!
I was wondering because since it's just DH and I, we seldom get GOOD pictures of the two of us together, so I was wondering if anyone brings a tripod into the parks for pictures.
If so, do you have a really compact tripod? Where could I get one?
DH loves his gorillapod also. We have used it on railing everywhere and he uses some expensive Canon D camera and trusts the weight of that camera on it.
We have a Gorillapod too and love it. We actually found one on mega sale at Best Buy two summers ago for under $5. I almost ran out of the store after I paid for it in disbelief of the price!
Every photopass CM will gladly use your camera to take a pcture for you! Actually I think All CMs would snap a pic for you if it does not interfear with their job.
As to a tirpod, I've heard good things about Gorillapods! The originals are pricey but there are plenty of simular products out there.
Of course you can get lucky like CoP Luv and find one on sale!
Best thing I found is a water bottle cap with a camera adapter afixed to it, got it at Walwart for a few bucks, screw it to the top of a full water bottle, screw mount your camera and adjust the tilt and shoot, not good for big bulky SLR's but fine for the smaller point and shoot's.
