Do you book your trip with a TA or do you call Disney yourself?

I used to do it myself but I knew this year I'd be busy and it wouldn't be as easy to call every morning to check on codes or try to get that CRT ressie so I booked with a TA and I am SO glad I did! She is fantastic! She's a DIS poster as well and is one of the owners of a Disney specialist agency so it's not a situation where I feel like I know more about Disney than she does. She's thought of money saving scenarios even before I did! She's been terrific and I will never again book on my own!

Yes Suzanne - you totally can. There is another thread floating around with the same question here somewhere... you basically have to write a letter to Disney guest services telling them who you are handing your reservations over to. Just make sure you contact the specific agency first and get a dedicated agent.

Thank you!!!!

I plan and book my own trips. I help my friends through the process too. Everyone tells me that I should be a TA for Disney. lol Maggie

do you mind telling us what travel agency she is part owner of?? perhaps we could throw some business her way??

i believe i am using the same TA as Wendy*Darling... it is www.magicalmemoriestravel.com and both of the owners (lori and dawn) are disboarders and super-knowledgeable and amazingly efficient and incredibly talented at snagging those hard-to-get ps'! oh, and they saved me a bundle too!

thank you gigi! that is what i was hoping someone would say. i just booked w/ them yesterday.

noticed you live in long island. i have lots of family in ny - long island included -- love it!! did u see the NY Post yesterday? my new baby cousin had her picture on the cover.

thanks again for the response!

I do all the planning myself (I love it!), but I use a Disney specialist TA for the work part of it. I get to plan, but the TA is the one to call Disney and deal with reservations for rooms, dining, towncar, and Cirque du Soleil. When Disney's computer system has a glitch, she is the one dealing with it, not me. She is on the phone early in the morning making my dining ressies while I get to sleep in. Her services do not cost me anything, but she gets commission from my business. It is a win-win situation.

I always book myself, I enjoy researching online and have been going to Disney since I was three (i am now 32!) so I know a little about the resorts. princess: princess: Mom of two princesses!

I booked myself in the past. On the phone and online. In the future I'm going to use a TA that I know on another board. We met a couple of years ago on my last trip, along with a larger group. She became a Disney TA shortly after. She takes a couple of trips there herself every year and is an avid poster on that other board.

I think it helps that I have actually met her. I know she would do her best to get me the best deal out there.

if your experience w/her is half as great as mine, there's no doubt you'll be happy! i just recommended my sister and she's already happy too!

sorry, don't read the post... i hope it was a good reason your baby cousin was on the cover!
