That site drives me nuts.. so I have always called. However, I have a friend who wanted to book a value with FD on monday am. Should I suggest she do it online? What time will it come up? How do you get the FD?

Thanks!

Booking online is booking through a travel company...It is NOT Disney. Always call and deal directly with Disney.

I ALWAYS call Disney direct for all our bookings and jot down the name of the CM who is helping me (it helps if you need to call back). They answer all your questions accurately and can connect you with other services, such as dining, on the same call. Many times they know exactly what to do.
Get your confirmation numbers before you hang up and request an email confirmation. :surfweb:

I booked our upcoming May trip online through WDW's site. If it is not Disney I can't explain why every letter I have received has the WDW letterhead (Walt Disney Travel Company) and when I called to make changes I called the regular Disney phone number NOT some other travel company. I have had no issues at all. In fact I liked it better than calling, not so much waiting on the line.

When I booked online I do believe I had my confirmation number right there to write down (it was November so my memory may be foggy) but I also got an email very quickly after booking online with our confirmation number as well as a confirmation letter via snail mail. Same for when I made changes to the reservation over the phone, the CM informed me that I would get an email and letter in the mail, and i did.

I can't imagine why the Disney site wouldn't be Disney:confused3 but I still call to book b/c I like the reassurance of talking to someone since it's so important. I did try to make a payment online and it got completely screwed up. I went through the screens like you were supposed to and tried to pay $250.00 and all that went through was a $25 charge and a a $100 charge. I called disney right after it happened and they fixed it but I think it's always best to speak to someone directly especially since Disney is ALWAYS having problems with their site.

That stinks, I made about 4 payments and our final payment online luckily with no problems.
That being said I bought 3 10 days tickets with park hopper and no exp options online about 2 or 3 years ago and my credit card was charged 3 times for that one transaction ($$$$!!!), on top of it I was sent two sets of tickets. I had one heck of a time getting that mess straightened out. So you 'd think I'd be afraid of the site but I tried it again for the 4/3 deal because of the convenience and this time it was GREAT!

Gosh I hate that website. I would much rather call them and apply a payment. It took almost a month for my first payment to go through on their website. It took it out of my checking account ASAP though :D.

I completely agree! I have booked our last 5 or so Disney vacations through the WDW website and I have never had a problem. I received immediate confirmation emails with my bookings and payments. The website is run by a travel company, the Walt Disney Travel Co.!! I know a lot of DISers have problems with their site, but I have never had a problem. The site always works great for me!
