This past Saturday I went on a ghost walk with my brother and his girlfriend. It started around 8 Sat night (and it was COLD!!). It lasted about an hour and we were told about several ghosts that inhabited this area of our city. It also included some really neat history of our city.

Now, it started off kinda rough. The man leading the tour had several facts wrong (Did you know that when someone dies at Disney, they cover up the bodies and sneak them out through secret tunnels? :rotfl:, Don't worry, I cleared that up for him!) But until they pulled out divining rods, I wouldn't have really believed him, due to his inaccuracy.

We "talked" with several ghosts that night, and my brother even bought some divining rods. It was a really neat experience and it was def something different to do.

On a side note (not to turn this into a religious discussion), after the walk, my brother decided to tell us he didn't believe in ghosts. That when it boiled down to it, it was either an angel or a demon...

I most definitely believe. I've had many experiences that lead me to believe that they exist.

Yep. I believe. Hard not to when you have a ghost living in your house. :)

Ooooh, I love a good story....

My office is probably haunted. :rotfl: I work in Salem, MA, and my office is in the attic of what used to be a funeral parlor. :scared: I love it. :goodvibes

:thumbsup2 NICE!

We own a funeral home and have a house next door to it.... used to be some cool happenings there.

My sister lives in a home that was built in the 1600's, and SWEARS there is a ghost there. She says she's seen him many times, and has even heard him once or twice. The weirdest thing is that her son (6 months old) often appears to be staring at someone or something when nothing is there, then breaks out into laughter. My sister says that the ghost must be making him laugh.

Oh I have a girlfriend who's daughter does that!! It's so strange isn't it??

I'm like your brother. I don't believe in ghosts, only angels and demons.

I actually had a ghost open the bathroom door while I was taking a bath. There was no one in the house but me. Same ghost also did not like my ex BIL at time. Kept throwing things at him off of shelves and from the back of the refrigerator :rotfl2:

what kinda ghost?

A few years ago, I was sitting in the living room late at night nursing my 9 month old. She was just about asleep and I was watching tv and waiting for her to be completely asleep. Suddenly I heard in my right ear, as if someone was standing beside and slightly behind me, "Mommy?" It sounded like a 3 or 4 year old girl.

I jumped, looked around, wondered what the heck and took my daughter to her crib and hid under the covers of my bed!

During this time some of my kid's toys would move or play their music on their own. I always just told myself maybe it was the batteries or the buttons were faulty. When they moved a few inches with me right there... well... clearly they were set slightly off kilter and it was just gravity, right?

A few months later, my husband went to sleep on the couch because I had a cold and was keeping him awake with my coughing. As he settled down onto the couch he heard a little girl say: "Hello!"

A few months after that I was on the computer in the dining room, my husband was asleep on the couch, the kids were all in bed with their doors closed when I heard a little girl call, "Mommy?" from down the hall. I went to check and looked in my 3 year old's room and she was face down, butt in the air, dead asleep!

A few months after that, my husband had fallen asleep on the couch. He woke up to hearing a little girl talking to him and thought he saw a figure in the dark hallway.

I went across the street to talk to me neighbor who is a minister. Wanted to get her opinion about this spirit and maybe have her do a house blessing. Before I could ask her, she asked me: "Hey, who is that little blond girl I have been seeing in your front window?" She also asked why our livingroom light would go on around 3 am and off sometime around 4. I was never up at that time, and if I was, I would not have turned on this particular light!

Cut to now and about 6 months ago, I was coming out of the kitchen and glanced down toward the front door and saw a girl standing there looking at me. I did a double take and there was no one there! I called my girls to see where they were and one was playing in her bedroom (she is only 2 and not the size I saw) and the older one was in the bathroom upstairs with me!

Wowee....very interesting story! I wonder who the little girl is?

My old house had a "presence" in the study. Never spoke or saw anything but you could feel it. You would be typing on the computer and feel it standing next to you. It was only in the study...weird.

The weirder part is that we had that house built so there is no "history" in that house as far as the building goes.

I have a real curiosity about ghosts. I tend to believe in them, but have never had any experience of my own aside from thinking I heard footsteps on the stairs when I was a kid. They were more like creaks and could just have been an old house making noises. I am a fan of the TV show Ghost Hunters, though.

No idea. Our house is fairly new (built in the late 70's) and neighbors who have lived here since the 20's have said no one has died here. This area has a long history, was owned by an tribe well into the 1600's and after that was along a stagecoach route. At the turn of the centuries there was a summer camp here along the lake (the two houses beside ours are bungalows that were built in the 30's) until it began to be built up in the late 20's as permanent housing. Also around the turn of the century, an area near here was a horse racing track, so who knows what may have spilled over from there! In the 70's, more modern houses began popping up between the older small houses.

Magicmato: very cool story :thumbsup2

"your" little ghost girl may just be lost...I would guess that shes just looking for her family and doesn't know where her mommy is. You should try talking to her sometime...that could get interesting ;)

I have (feeling really dumb doing so) told her her mother is not here and to "Go toward the light". There was over a year between the last time we heard her and when I thought I saw her. Did it work? I have no idea.

But I really do not care, and we are not worried about 'spirits', though if they were distructive or telling us to "GET OUT NOW!" I am sure we would feel differently.

I am one of those people who believes, yet am skeptical. I heard her, but I am the first one to tell you I am not sure! lol

Absolutely !
We had a small boy ghost in our last home...he used to hide stuff and run around my kitchen in the middle of the night.... the first time I heard him laugh freaked me out though.....I went and woke my hubby up, he just shook his head and went back to sleep. Oh, he believes too...he just wasn't giving up his sleep!

I absolutely believe. I live in an ancient settlement called Brighton which is built over extensive catacombs and crypts - it's hard not to believe given what happens around us here.

On a more sober note, many ghostly sightings can be explained by magnetic fields or low frequency noises, both of which cause minor hallucinations.

Doesn't apply to all cases though...
