Do you avoid the parks on weekends?

We are thinking about doing non-park stuff for the two weekends of our 2 week trip. Reason being is that everytime we go to a park on a weekend, the crowds are unreal to the degree where it really starts to affect our good time!! Even during value season.

We were thinking about devoting weekdays to the real "plow through" for each park and do non-park stuff on the weekends (like boating/resort/relaxing stuff or maybe just pop in at a park here and there over the weekend but not devote alot of time there).

We are also planning to hit up Universal and Discovery Cove. I'm guessing those are also both jam-packed on weekends?

Any thoughts on this??

I've been there on weekends my last few trips and I didn't think it was any worse than the weekdays. We went to Epcot on a Saturday in June and it was EMPTY!!

We never give up time at the Disney Parks on the weekends...we just break up the day. We'll do one park in the morning and then go back to the resort for a swim and then go to another park in the evening...we use these as our "leisure days" of seeing attractions at the parks. We did Universal once on the weekend and it was awful...very crowded. We have found that Tuesday, Wednesay or Thursday are the best days for Universal, Busch Gardens and Sea World.

Weekends bring out all the locals for the afternoon. So every weekend we would go over it was more crowded that week days. Be your own judge

I usually avoid the Magic Kingdom on weekends. I have no trouble with the other parks on weekends.
