I know I'm going to sound insane, but if Fergie is wrongfully "injured" (due to accidentally bumping into her, or yelling at her for something she didn't do), she will sit under the bed and cry until I apologize.

Yes. The other day I was making my lunch, and stepped on my dog's tail, who had been sitting on the floor, hoping I'd drop something for her.

We apologize to our boys (3 dogs) whenever we run into them or trip over them. We say "Excuse me" when we have to step over them. If I want to sit on the couch or lay on the bed and there is already a dog in my spot, I can point to a different spot and say "over there" and they will get up and move to that spot. And, the most important one, when I go into the bathroom and am followed by 1, 2, or all 3 of them, I can point back to the hallway and say "Out, I can go potty by myself" and they will get out...they do sit RIGHT at the doorway, but at least they are out!

Max follows me in the bathroom all the time! Unfortunately, he does not leave when I ask him to. He plops himself down on the bath mat to wait for me. The goof.

I was walking down the hall with a laundry basket this morning, and Charlie (see below) walked right in front of me. I didn't see him, and kicked him a good one. I felt so awful and immediately started following him to apologize, but he seemed cautious and confused. Poor guy!

LOL, yes! And I say "excuse me" and similar stuff.

We talk to our Bichon named Chewy all the time and yes apologies as well.
In fact, we have to spell many words that he knows so he won't know what we are talking about.

I made the mistake on Friday of telling him we were going to get his hair cut. While on the way there.....he whined and cried the whole way there after I said "hair cut".
