Do you always stop at stop signs / red lights?

Yes - I always stop for both. Lately though I’m in the minority for that where I live. I don’t know when stop signs became optional, but they have been, and it aggravates me so much. It also aggravates me that the police turn a blind eye to it.

One day one of these people are going to hit a kid and then they’ll have to live with that guilt the rest of their life. It’s not worth it people - just stop!!! Ugghhh…..gets me so fired up 😡

I always stop at stop signs and red lights. I'll only go through a red light if it seems to be malfunctioning and never turns green, which used to happen on occasion when I was driving home late at night when I worked at a mall. There was a light at the Home Depot entrance that would cycle through and never turn green for straight road traffic even though the Home Depot was long closed and nobody was going in or out of there.

I always stop. I had to be at work at 3 am the last 13 years before I retired, So I was out as the drunks from the bars and cops were the main cars on the road. Both of whom tend not to stop at Red Lights and Stop signs at that time of the night/morning. So I made SURE any other cars were going to stop before proceeding, even when I got the green light.

and I know we can't trust people's blinkers

and I know we can't trust people's blinkers coming towards to turn right for us to pull out in front of them if we are turning right onto their street, it might be getting to a point we can't trust people's stopping at stop signs and lights (well, in ATL we have cars running reds ALL THE TIME in traffic)

That is how Yuma county changes speed limits...a child has to die... brand new park... granted the parking is not right on the 45-50 mph road and there is a cobble stone buffer... but one day a ball will go errant from the unloading of the vehicle and parent can't monitor all 4 children. It's a congested road with library and several businesses...so I always go 35 mph.. love looking at insects thru the rearview mirror

There are a few IMO unnecessary stop signs in my neighborhood and I admit I slowly roll through them when it’s obvious that there is no other traffic.

A handful of times in the past I went through a red light when it was late at night and free of traffic.

My deputy sheriff dad taught me to drive. So yes, I make a full stop at every red light and stop sign. I learned to drive very defensively and observe and predict the behavior of other drivers. I'm not a perfect driver by any means. No one is. But I always hear my dad's voice in my head when situations arise and, all these years later, his advice still keeps me safe!

Yes, always.....there are cameras on almost every one (real or fake, you just don't know which it is).
Here people do go through them too often and that is why there is a delay in the opposite direction turning green.,
Very irritating.
I have even seen cars go through when a firetruck with siren is entering the intersection.

Always. Although I do roll
Thru a few stop signs at night. a few years ago I picked up kthe August fr an event about 10 30. Didn’t notice the policeman on the side street. Rolled thru the sign. Five min later I was back with my daughter and did the sane thing. Got stopped and ticketed. The cop said I saw you the first time and let it go. But I couldn’t let it go the second time.
I respected his logic.

It has never occurred to me NOT to stop. Of course I obey the traffic signs.

That said, like someone above mentioned, if my car was surrounded by threatening thugs and stopping would be more dangerous than not stopping, I might roll through. There are rare times when a driver has to make a call that not following the sign is safer than following the sign, but I've been driving for almost 50 years and haven't run into one of those times yet.

YES.

Unlike a little bit of speeding, this is not optional.
YES. 100% non-negotiable. I come to a complete and full stop. A friend was the passenger in a vehicle that was T-boned because the driver did a rolling stop while someone else was blasting thru an intersection. I can't remember if he broke his back or his neck, or both, and his pelvis. Recovery and rehab were painful and long. It's 100% worth taking the extra few seconds to come to a full stop and make sure nobody else is approaching the intersection.
