Do you always have to be planning a trip?

I start my new Saving for Disney Change Jar with what ever is left over from my latest trip (which usually isn't much!) the day I get home and just keep planning from there. I take a little bit of time off from the DIS boards though after I get home because for a week or two after it's just too depressing to come here with so much time before my next trip, within a month though, I'm back here just about every day, planning, planning, planning! I love it!

I am exactly the same. How funny. We have been home a week and half and I am working on the savings jar. :thumbsup2 And trying to see how many days at Disney I can get out of DH next trip. ;)

I think it would be very difficult to hang around the DISboards without a trip in mind....even if its a "maybe-trip" a few years away. My Sis is taking her family on a last-minute trip in early November and they don't know the first thing about Disney. (isn't that how we feel about everyone who isn't a Dis'er?) So anyway, im enjoying giving her more info than she could possibly read between now and than. Trying not to overwhelm her though.

After our "once in a lifetime trip" in 1996, we always have at least 2 trips on the planning board. :teeth:

It's really nice because all four of us love Disney. We watch airfares, AP rates, talk about restaurants and visit the DIS every day.

I actually plan the "planning"
yes, I admit it, I am that bad......

:rolleyes1

If it's not a "real" trip then it's a dream trip. I follow Southwest Air DING! and check the DIS boards as well as Disney's website all the time. I check their rates and any promotions. I put together a "quick trip" in Sept with the free free dining and when Southwest had a DING! promotion. It would have been a quick and cheap trip. Alas we didn't go...just dream.

Then last week I told my husband we needed a vacation and mentioned the current, great opportunity - good flights and reduced rates at the resort for October! Surprise, surprise when he was able to say "book it!"

Literally in one night I booked our flights and resort. Then created an itinerary and booked all our dining reservations. I called back the next day to get our MNSSHP tickets and I find myself scouring the boards today checking things out!

We booked last week. We leave next week. It's a magical thing!

I agree! Some of the best trips are spur of the moment ones! :cool1:
We did one in Jan and 2 weeks ago. We said the "kids" needed to do MNSSP.
Yeah okay, WE needed something to hold us over til our "real trip" in November. That was the best part of the mini trip... knowing we didn't have to do it all because another trip was only weeks away.
Have a great time next week! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Last year, I started planning this one as soon as we got back! We go in December, and I'm already thinking about the next one! Even if it's a couple of years, I'm not content unless planning a Disney trip!

How about you obsessors? C'mon, I see your multiple tickers going! ;)

Guilty as charged! We usually go to WDW every year, but we skipped 2005 and didn't know when we would be back. It was horrible!!! When we finally figured out that we would be able to go in December 2006, we all felt better! It's just that 'light at the end of the tunnel' that keeps us going! We're going to skip again 2007, but I'll be OK with it because the next WDW trip will be for our 20th anniversary! I get to research vow renewals and a side of Disney I don't have a clue about!

We've got 2 in the planning stages right now- one to WDW and one to DL. LOVE it!

About a month after I get back, the magic has worn off and I get antsy to start planning the next one.

It certainly helps to know you have another 1 or 2 or 3 in the future. I just retruned Saturday night and I am planning for late April/early May. I am also looking at going back to DL in the summer and then for 2008 I am planning on taking my goddaughter. I have basic plans in my head already for all 3.

Always. It gives me something to help get over the post-trip blues.

Absolutely! That's one of the bonuses as a DVC member -- you're always planning the next trip. :goodvibes We haven't even left for this trip yet, but we need to decide BEFORE we leave when we're going on the next trip, in case we need to start calling to book points. And now that ADRs are back to 180 days, it makes the time in between trips go a little faster. You're always doing something to prepare. :hourglass

Absolutely! It's a morsel of escapism to nibble on each day! It doesn't necessarily have to be a WDW trip, but I have to be planning some sort of vacation. If I don't have a trip somewhere on the calendar, I feel like a train entering an loooong tunnel with no light anywhere in sight.
