Do you always go to WDW also?

We are planning a big "go all out" trip next March for our first WDW trip and Disney Cruise. Well,I am already eyeballing other possible cruise dates. But, I probably wouldn't tie in WDW the second time. So, my question is, what do you do? Always go to WDW also, since you are so close? Just get a regular hotel room the night before, and just chill? I am curious to see what every one says!

It depends on how much time we have. If I can spend at least a full day at WDW, I'll tend to go over there. If we'd only have a few hours, I usually get a hotel near MCO the night before--it's cheaper, we'll be tired from traveling, we may run late, etc.

The idea is for vacation to be fun and easy. If being close but not getting to WDW adds to stress, go for it. But if a good night of sleep before the cruise is what you really need after a travel day, that's OK too!

We are coming from such a far distance that we have to get in everything we can. We try to do WDW every three to four years. With flight cost and just all the planning involved it makes more sense for us to do cruise and land.

We just do the cruise. I think both would be too much- but that's just us.

Every time we have gone on the Disney cruise we have done WDW as well. I can't seem to just do the cruise. I have to go to WDW also even though we don't spend enough time there. My goal eventually is, when I save up enough money, is to do 1 week in WDW and 1 week on the cruise because I want more time at Disney and more time on the cruise.

We always tack on at least a few days before or after our cruises. Last time we did a week before and 3 nights after a 4-night cruise. For me it would be tough to be so close and not go to WDW. I'm even having a tough time not going to DLP after our Med cruise in August. But I just don't have the vacation time.

I think I'd break into hives being that close to WDW and not at least going to MK. But we've only sailed the four-nights, so it simply means adding a Thurs-Sun three night stay at WDW before sailing. I mean, we'd always fly in at least the day before a sailing to be on the safe side, so why not add a few more nights I get to storm the parks, DH gets to rest his feet and nap a lot on the cruise. It's a win-win.

I can't be that close to WDW and NOT go, but I also have an annual pass.

we did the 3 night twice and paired it with the 4 nights on land but booked it ourselves, separately. We really enjoyed doing the combo. After being at disney 7x in the past 5yrs we've got the rushing around out of our system and figured out how to maximize our time, etc. so we dont need a week of disney world, 4nights is plenty. Our plan is like Ak in the a.m. Epcot or MK in the evening, DHS a.m. then Epcot or MK in the evening, waterpark then MK in the evening and an evening at epcot or Mk again. That's enough for us to do what we like. Then its off to the bahamas! Cruising has us hooked now, so we're doing a 7 night w/ no disney world. it will be wierd to go to port down in florida and not be going to wdw.

only done one cruise but planning 2 more and it will be hard to be that close and not go...we cruise in Sept b/c ofprices so we hope to hit the MNSSHP...cheaper than WDW tix!!

Us too, time issues and usually try to do it with another no disney thing.

We have always gone for at least 4 days prior - ive been able to convince dh because it is a cheaper flight after all -lol! We find it perfect to spend a fast paced wdw vaca all together then get on the relaxing cruise. At wdw we spend fun w our boys then on the cruise dh and i get alone time - marriage saving! Lol
