look up people on here and google them etc to find out personal details?

Every once in a while people on here post things that just make me go:scratchin why do they know that, take the time to figure it out or care:confused:

I can't decide what to think about the behavior & was wondering what other people do & think

Scary, bizarre and just plain frightening. Can we say stalker. What reason could be a positive?

When they claim they never said something and you know they did then you use your friend Google. Sometimes your friend returns really odd stuff that the person posted. Some of the things others post can be scary!!!

I am surprised how many people use the same name all over the internet. If there is another ilovemk76 it is not me. I use a different name on each site, Disney or otherwise.

But who cares what they say? Whats the gain/benefit to proving them wrong?

I think I'm just kind of unobservant, and I also haven't been around all that long compared to some, but it amazes me just how much some posters know about other posters' previous posts and details they have given in them. Ooooh, and how's that for a run-on alliterative sentence?

Can't imagine looking around for other information from other sources. Most of the time I don't even pay attention to who is posting a thread (with a couple of exceptions but those are very blatant posters.)

Because it is relevant to the conversation. You have never said to a person they are wrong or shown others that they are wrong? :confused3 Never on the internet or in real life? :confused3 If I know a person is a scammer and they are sucking you in you would prefer I not say anything and let them take advantage of you?:confused3:confused3

This is kind of me (even though I have been around for awhile). I don't even remember who I normally agree with and who I don't (well, there may be one or two that I'm reminded of from time to time). :rotfl2:

I'm kind of impressed though that some recognize others writing style, etc. so easily. I mean, the deal with BCB and PD was pretty interesting! ;)

I just googled my username, and I promise no one that shows up is me. This is the only place I use this particular username.
I've never googled anyone from the Dis, but if someone says something that catches my attention, I'll stalk their previous posts for more info.

Some people post personal info about others like it's the most natural thing in the world and no-one ever says anything about it so I was thinking that maybe it really is incredibly common and I'm just super sensitive to other people's privacy &/or I'm just apathetic.... could be I'm both:upsidedow

I guess I'm not alone in thinking it's a touch unusual. Even if it's done to defend someone, which is noble, it still seems a tad overly vested... unless the poster is really upset. I've heard crazy tales of vicious PM's and people bringing disagreements into the real world which is just beyond me so I suppose then it makes some sense.

All I know is the internet is a wild place... I'm going to go google myself and see what I get....:rotfl:apparently a lot of people Luv Orlando Bloom:rotfl: ohhh, I found a few other me's too.

I hear of that too. I've never received a pm that was vicious in any way. I get very few pm's to begin with, and the few I receive are friendly.

See I thought you just loved Orlando as in the place! That changes everything - I better google now.:rotfl2:

 I actually did name myself because I Luv Orlando the place,:lovestruc but I never googled myself before. I got up to page 28 and even I stopped giving a hoot about digging up anything interesting, mostly because I guess I'm just not that interesting but it seems Orlando Bloom is quite the heart throb

Orlando Bloom.... that's funny.

No, I never have googled someone. But I have searched other posts by someone when it seems like someone's posts sound familiar or I want to find the backstory.

Nope - never crossed my mind -how would one go-about doing something like this? It's not like anyone around here knows anyone's real name, anyway...

I just googled and wow, there are lot's of monkeybug's out there! Who knew? I'm not going to tell if any of them are me...

I have never googled anyone on here or ever had the desire to. I like the fact that I don't "know" anyone on here, and nobody "know's" me. (I hope!) Most of the time I don't care if someone is lying or not either, and certainly don't care enough to waste my time googling it.
I will admit that once when someone was posting stuff that sounded fishy, and said they lived where a good friend of mine lived and worked, I asked my friend if there really was a person by that name there. And then I kept that answer to myself. Maybe that's stalkerish??? I guess my curiosity got to me and it was so easy to find out that it was hard to resist.
