Do we really believe Pandora will open in the summer?

The only thing I don't like with mine train is how short it is. It was originally supposed to be longer but they shortened and I wish they hadn't.

That seems fair. Especially with those long standby waits. It didn't seem terribly short to me but I also have no idea of the original plans.

The version we got was the third version. It was made smaller twice.

Anybody wish avatar land was getting a third ride? Seems like two is now the standard minimum for new lands: toy story, Star Wars, the past two hogsmede wizarding worlds, and even diagon alley if you count the hogwarts express!

It was supposed to but it was cut very early on.

yes more rides the better but 2 is the minimum and asking for 3 is alot when a park just opens.

Seeing that you joined the boards about 4 years ago you would not have seen the HUNDREDS of posts and threads from 1998 and 1999 about this.

And by your same logic you would have missed them by 2 to 3 years........ just saying....

My only opinion on this is that for RoL, they were using technology new for them. I read on wdwmagic that in their opinion, RoL was the most technologically advanced concept that Disney has attempted. Other sites seemed to corroborate that statement.

At least with the 2 rides in Pandora, they are not 'new' as one is a simulator (albeit it is supposedly one of the more advanced simulator rides of this type) and the other is a boat ride that is apparently using technology similar to the Shanghai PotC ride but just not on as grand a scale.

I feel like Pandora will still open in the summer 2017.

{ REALLY }....To Not go to AK?:confused3

Is ROL the only thing that would make you go there....
WoW..It must be me, but I'm on the side that there is nothing (parkwise) that is anything like AK....
Im an Epcot, magic Kingdom guy....i am one of those folks that thinks it is exactly what it says it is not....a Zoo....its Ok for a few hours, hit everest, then kali, maybe dinosaur....then out...I was hoping to check out Rivers of light, but well....

True. They now hype everything up to be headliners. I remember when cars land opened the land in general was the headliner and each ride got equal representation. Pandora has two very major rides and I see what you're saying with a third headliner might be overkill for opening day of the area

I know Rivers of Light is WAAAAAAAAAAY overdue now... How much confidence do people have that Pandora will be ready to go this summer?

1) One never knows.
2) If it does not open on-time, WDW will certainly suffer a MAJOR-MAJOR-MAJOR public relations problem.
3) My guess is that if it is not totally ready, they would still open something. in order to save face.
. . . they did this when RoL wasn't opening and they threw together Jungle Book and half-hearted nighttime Safari ride
. . . the Jungle Book was done in ONLY two weeks - not too shabby, and it wasn't all that bad of an attempt

Hmmm. Ok, :confused3:confused3

so banshee will be like soarin and navi river like pirates?

i actually meant when a new land opens they start with 2 rides so to get the park ready in time for opening date.
I disagree with that. Carsland opened with 3 rides. Toy Story play land opened with 3 rides in Paris. Diagon Alley opened with one ride (I don't count the train, thats more transportation than a ride).

they probably couldnt think of more rides, plus they are moving toy story midway mania in that area

They couldn't think of more rides? I'm sorry but that's a lame excuse and not true. Pandora was rumored to have a third ride (a coaster in fact) but that was cut out very early on. Toy story mania will be part of the DHS toy story land but it's not a new attraction. DHS needs capacity desperately.
