Is it usually packed at the counter service restaurants? Is this a night where you have to have a reservation???

we were thinking of eating at Rancho Zocalo...but its going to be crazy...then we will think of a sit down place...

It will be Sat - Sept 11th...thanks :)

The counter service restaurants don't take reservations. We usually eat dinner on the earlier side, around 5:00, I would think you would be ok if you did that.

We were there the same weekend last year and even with D23 going on, it was a very quiet weekend (except for fireworks). You will have no problem getting a seat at CS.

Rancho del Zocalo has tons of seating, no matter what time we eat there always seems to be plenty available, even on a very busy day.

Thanks for the tips...

We made ressies for other nights of our trip but wanted to try one of the Counter Service places on Sat...so this helps....

thanks

If you eat at slightly off hours...you never have to wait. Try eating at 5:00ish, and then getting a snack later. If you want to eat at BB then make reservations! But no reservations for counter service....

We never had any problems finding seats at Rancho, even when we met DBF's co-workers and their families, we had like 10 people and we had no issues finding seats at noon. :) We usually eat at off times at DL but that time it wasn't a problem. If it looks busy you can always grab a table and the rest of the family can order the food.

The only place that ever needs a reservation is Blue Bayou. I can't think of any time that counter service was packed. Even on New Year's Eve we haven't had any trouble getting food.

Not exactly.....Carnation Cafe and Cafe Orleans regularly need reservations as well, we've been able to get seating at CO without a reservation but we've had to wait quite some time and once we were told they simply had no seating available at all.
