If we came to universal two nights( royal pacific) after our Disney cruise.. Should we get and keep a rental car? Or just do a one way. Is a car needed?
Thanks..
I wish they offered airport transportation.

Will you be going anywhere but the parks and citywalk?

If you don't think you'll need to go anywhere and then you suddenly have a need, you can rent a quick Hertz car, or use a towncar (I know they have them outside Portofino, and no one asked for a hotel keycard before I used them, but I'm not sure if they are outside each onsite resort)...we were sick and I needed to get to whole foods for supplements and our style of cold-care, and paying for a driver to take me there, wait for me (for a short period of time) and take me home was about the same as it would have been to rent from Hertz for the day.

Remember that you'll be charged parking at the hotel. If you're staying over one night you'll be charged one parking fee as long as you're out of the lot by midnight of checkout day.

Undecided on the plan but it's our first time so we might be happy staying onsite. Looking at prices tho a rental plus parking might be cheaper than one way transfer. Crazy.
Thanks

If you are staying only 2 nights and have never been before, I doubt you will need (or want) to leave Universal property. There is transportation (via boat, walk, or shuttle) between the parks and the other hotels. You ARE allowed to hotel hop, and both PBH and HRH have great waterslides and pools that are worth checking out.

Be aware, however, that there is nothing really within walking distance offsite. You "could" walk to some of the restaurants / attractions on the north end of International Dr. (and take the I-Ride shuttle from there), however I doubt you would have the free time to do this, and it's a somewhat risky walk since Universal Orlando is basically surrounded by busy roads and the interstate.
