Sometimes the shuttles provide them with an extra charge. Personally, I'd bring my own. I'd feel better knowing mine was a-ok from a safety standpoint.

The Disneyland Express does not require car seats (it is the big bus). However, any other shuttle will as they are required to by law. You are allowed to check them at the airport as they are not considered luggage or you can gate check them. The strollers that they rent at the resort are jogger type strollers there is a picture of them at the DL website. Just go there and type stoller rental in the search box.

One thing to note about stroller rental...they do not let you take them out of the park. You can go between DL and DCA, but you can not take them back to your hotel.

If you are going to be using a shuttle you need to bring a car seat - I would not rent one, you never know the history of the rented car seat, as the PP mentioned it will not count against your checked luggage items, they will check car seats and strollers for free.

I would bring my own stroller as well, that way you can use it between the hotel and the parks, especially for an 11 month old, the rented strollers do not recline all the way for naps and such.

When we used the Disneyland Express shuttle a few years ago we did not need a car seat. My daughter was 4 1/2 months and my son was 3 at the time. I had the baby in her car seat carrier but they do not have seat belts so I just held onto the carrier

As others have noted, renting a car seat can be troublesome... you never know what the condition will be. Rent one if you are comfortable installing a car seat without an instruction manual, dealing with a possible poor install by the company, not knowing if it is expired or recalled, potentially having it covered in food, vomit, or other substances, and having no recourse because you need one. (Or just google rental car seat and gross yourself out! ;) )

But really, in general a child will be more comfortable in something that feels familiar and smells familiar when in a new and very stimulating situation.

I was wondering about this AND about shuttle to and from DL from a hotel if off site, so I got frustrated and just booked on site...good excuse to not worry about a shuttle I guess :)
