Do we know when the next round of incentives drops?

I've seen December something mentioned somewhere.

Is this concrete or are we still guessing at this point?

I want to add on at RIV but I want to time it so that I can see the next round and cancel if better incentives are in the offing.

Current incentives are god until Dec 11th..I think…so that is the date we know for sure new ones come out.

Could they drop some earlier than that? Maybe.
Ok, so 12/11 is pretty set then?

I just want to add on within the 10 day period.

I'm thinking only 100 points, so probably won't be much in the way of incentives anyway. But if the new ones are awesome I could be swayed to go to 150 :)

If you’re going to purchase no matter what then the 10 day window doesn’t seem to matter as much as the closing date. We just bought at the Poly and pushed our closi8ng date til the end of December to ensure if the December promotions are better we can rewrite. If they aren’t then we keep our current incentives and pricing which is fine by us. The 10 day window allows you to cancel outright without penalty. Others may chime in to point out that there may be no guarantee that Disney will rewrite the contract after the 10 day period, but I have an email from my guide confirming they will and I have no reason to doubt they would, but that may be something to consider as well. For us its better this way because we have a trip to WDW in 2 weeks and will now be able to use the benefits for that trip even though we haven’t closed yet.

Yes, I'm not too clear on the differences between cancelling in the 10-day window vs. after 10 days but before closing.

I suspect that in the 10-day window you can cancel for any reason without penalty. After 10 days, I'm not as sure. Perhaps you could lose your deposit or incur a penalty?

Under Florida law, a timeshare purchase can be canceled within ten days with no penalty whatsoever.

After ten days, most timeshare developers don’t allow cancellation at all - the purchaser is obligated to pay as per the contract they signed. However, DVC seems to be more lenient in letting the purchaser make changes after ten days. I don’t think they’d let someone cancel completely, though.

Thanks. I'd feel safer within the 10-day window.

Also, I believe it's 10 days from when *you* DocuSign... And you can push that for 30 days... The upside in delaying the DocuSign is you don't have to go thru the rescind part, you just don't sign.

Good luck!

But do you still get your points loaded ?

Glad to hear you also had it in email from your guide. My guide provided it in writing back earlier this summer, and when I shared this, the skepticism and disbelief from some on these boards was wild. 🤣 I ended up rewriting outside of my 10 day window to receive better incentives, too.

My points loaded almost immediately, too.

Edited to clarify - the delayed close would not let you cancel entirely (that is allowed within the 10 day period), but rewrite for better incentives, to change resorts, or change the number of points.

Interestingly, as I just found out when we bought direct, they have to give a 14 day cancellation period to UK buyers. Presume this is why we can’t use the online add-on tool.
When you bought, were you physically in Florida? Or in the UK? That might make a difference.

The rescission period definitely differs by where you live, where you buy from, and where the resort is located. Basically whatever of those three has the longest relevant* timeframe, wins.

As to the original question, there’s no guarantee new incentives will drop the day after the old ones expire. They almost certainly will, but they could change their business strategy, change how they discount, etc. And then there might not be anything.

*relevant because most places do not have rules protecting their residents from buying when the resident is physically located out of state/country, but a few do.

I was in the UK, so yes I think that could make a difference.
I think that definitely did make the difference. The laws regarding rescission of a timeshare purchase in the US and apparently in the UK pertain to where the purchase is made, not where the timeshare is located. Florida allows ten days, while other states allow only three. However, those are statutory minimums, and DVC can legally allow the buyer longer than the statutory minimum if they want.
