Do we have enough candy?

This is our first Halloween in our new house and after living in apartments for the past several years where there were no trick or treaters, we are looking forward to getting to see some kiddos again. Anyway, we asked our neighbors how many kids they usually get and they said around 75. We have about 180 pieces of candy. Given that it's a weekend, is that enough or should I run out and buy another bag? Do most kids just choose one or two pieces?

I just dole it out to them, Lisa. Otherwise, I've had kids that'll just dig their hand in and come out with a big ole fistful!

I just moved to a new area as well and I'm hoping I've bought enough. It's always so hard to tell for that first year. Oh, well, if we run out, we'll just turn the light off. My favorites are the littlest ones and they always trick or treat pretty early!

I had 6 different kinds and I told each kid to choose ONE, I had 2 try to take more than 1, but I stayed firm and only left them have 1. Good thing too, because I was just about out when it all ended.

When we last owned a house, DH was the candy enforcer. A child who automatically took one politely was allowed a second piece and any child who reached in with both hands was reminded to take one. We don't have kids but it allows him to practice his "daddy" voice. I just suddenly worried that we'd run out (though I am even more afraid of what happens if we don't give it all away). Oops, now we are down to 179! (couldn't resist an almond joy!)

We do up little treat bags. Usually we get the little snack size ziplock bags, and that's what we have done up for this year, but for next year we bought a bunch of the small printed bags and we'll vacuum seal those. We put 2-3 little bars and bag of whatever we've bought that's bagged. This year it's Cookies & Clods. We usually get anywhere from 50-80 kids.

I haven't done nearly as much decorating as I usually do for halloween this year though.

When I am out of candy the light goes off. I don't sweat it. :)
