Do WDW pregnant, or wait until after

We have DVC points we can use this fall, while I'd be in the 25-30 wks stage, or I can bank them and wait to go after the baby is born. I am debating because I don't know which would be better - pregnant with 3 kids (10,8 and4) or not pregnant with 4 kids (11, 9, 5 and <1) next year.

There's no right or wrong answer - just curious of those that may have done either and which would you recommend if you had a choice.

TIA!!

As much as it is killing me to not say "Forget December! Let's go now!" I'm going to wait until the little guy is born. I desparately need a break from the real world at this point, and would give my right arm to go right now (22 weeks) I'm gonna wait.

Congratulations!!! Last time we went, I was 16 weeks pregnant and it was in May. I ended up having contractions due to dehydration. So, if you go, be careful! The fall should be easier on you than May was on me. If it was me, I would still go again while pregnant...but with more water in tow! The baby will rule your schedule once he/she makes his/her debut. I told my older two that it was our last trip to WDW until the baby was 3! He is now 2 1/2 and we are heading down to the World in just 22 more days! So, I vote for GO NOW!

I went once when I was about five months pg. I went with my two other kids, wanted one more trip with just them. It was Memorial day '04 which was very hot that year. I did feel more tired but it was a great trip. I was also an old 41! Just make sure you drink a lot. You can go on most of the rides also.

Thanks! I'm still debating, but I guess I'd like to get one more trip in with the 3 "older" kids before we have to be back into working around naps etc.

If you're a fan of riding things, I'd wait until post-baby and do something closer to home (if you are not in FL already) with the older 3:)

We took our oldest when I was pregnant with our middle and had a great time. People really tried to talk me out of it. They said I would have to change our normal Disney touring style and it wouldn't be fun for us. I was 5 months. We did everything we normally did. Out in the morning, non-stop touring, back to the room at night. Obviously there were a couple of rides I couldn't do, but Dh took her and she was fine with it. We now joke with our middle & count that as a half visit for her. LOL. Have fun!!

Last summer I went to a Six Flags, 8 months pregnant. I know it`s not the same park, totally incomparable, but still I found that going to an amusement park while pregnant to be extremely tiring.

The only reason I went was to see my 3 year old ride her first roller-coaster.

I had to pay for a ticket, even though I wasn`t allowed to ride anything. I also had to follow my DD and DH around the park on swollen feet. Not to mention the countless washroom breaks:headache:

I'm indifferent either way. That helps, doesn't it?

While you don't have to take care of an infant while pregnant--for planning purposes (and for our use year we have to bank in July)--if you have to decide so far out from the trip, it is difficult to predict how you might feel.

Now, I was fine--so it would have been fine.

But my last pregnancy--day 2 of an extended family trip, I had to rent an ECV b/c I physically couldn't keep up with anyone and could barely walk from the bus to the entrance as it was. That can get pricey quickly of course.

I also don't mind traveling with an infant--it does allow me to enjoy more since I will not be on ride restriction and health wise, I'm more guaranteed to not personally have physical issues as I would be while pregnant. I've also had luck with all of my children in that for each of them--nap time was portable.

So again--it is a toss up and a total matter of preference. For me, it would strongly depend on my desire to go to Disney if all else were equal in that I could manage the park physically in either scenario.

I went to NYC at 35 weeks pregnant (opportunity presented itself and I was clear to go)--while it wasn't disney...it was lots of walking and it was exhausting. And I was only there for 2 days. But since it was kid free otherwise, it was the time to do it and I was fine not waiting 2 years before the opportunity would present itself again.

I'm due in 2 weeks and though we still have AP's good for a few more weeks--my last trip was in March. My son turned 3 and I dont' want to cheat the system or buy him a ticket. We'll buy him a ticket when we use our GAD vouchers this summer for dd's birthday. Seems like a waste to not use our AP's, but DH isn't hear and I'm just tired.

I went when i was 5 mo. peg. with baby #3 and i had a great time. you should probally go a little slower, drink a little more water, and TAKE more breaks but come on it's disney just have fun with your family..OH YEAH AND YOU CAN EAT WHAT EVER YOU WANT!!!!:rotfl2:

I am of the mind to go. Just take things easier. In 2007 I went to Universal pregnant and I was high risk. I just took things slow and rested. It was DH and DDs favorite trip. We spent lots of time by the pool too.

I just got back from the WDW yesterday. I was 30 weeks pregnant. I was fine. I did take a few more breaks and drink more water than usual, but overall I kept up with everyone. The first 3 days were pretty normal. The 4th day was a little harder on me, but we were in Epcot, which is a lot of walking. I just took alot of breaks while the others were looking in the shops in the WC.

By the end of 5 days, I was ready to come home, which usually isn't the case. I am glad I went. This is our first baby. We decided for us, it was better to go while pregnant than to take an infant. Obviously, we don't really know as we have never had an infant. We plan on return when she is about 2.

I just want to say that i went when i was 5 months prego and had a GREAT time! They did so many little things for me and I have some of the most awsome pics with my belly and characters EVER!.....

I'm going in 5 days and I will be 17 Weeks. This will be my first trip pregnant but I am thrilled about going because it will be the last one with just one little person.

We live in PA and spend a lot of time at Hershey Park and Dutch Wonderland inbetween our Disney trips and I went last week when it was 90 degrees.

I absolutely noticed a difference and I still go to the gym 3-4 times a week.

However there is little to no air conditioning...the frequent potty breaks were annoying but as far as I'm concerned I'm sure I won't care that much while I'm in Disney.

So my vote is to go :thumbsup2

If this was your 1st baby I'd probably say go while pregnant, but since you're a "seasoned" mom ;) I say wait, go when your baby isn't brand new but isn't mobile, 4-6 months would be ideal IMO - sleeping through the night, not jumping out of the stroller/refusing to sit in it *that would've been my DD at almost 2 years old in Chicago*

Congrats on your pregnancy!
Is going both times an option, because that's what I'd do!!:lmao:
I went twice while pregnant, at 16 and 21 weeks, and then again when my DS was 12 weeks old (and again and again and again, but that's a whole other story!).
It was probably easier for us because we just had one kid, but I was able to enjoy myself when I was pregnant (it was April and May, and quite warm), I went on rides that were allowed and walked around while my DH went on other rides. Basically the same situation when we go with my DS now; we go on rides we can all do together, and then DH & I take turns on the "big kid" rides. Now that our DS is approaching 40 inches (ok, 38 inches) we're able to do more and more.
I too did NYC at about 28 weeks -it was late June- and I was walking super slow, had the worst constipation of my pregnancy (if not my entire life), and had the kibosh put on a potential trip at 32 weeks (my dr. said it would be OK, my DH said he couldn't handle me at WDW walking so slow:laughing:).

I would go now, as long as you aren't into thrill rides. After the little one is born, you don't know how long it will be before you can realistically go back (newborns at the parks = no no!), and it would be nice for your three kids to have the memory of doing this before another sibling gets added to the routine.

Not going pregnant is better.

I have to agree. I know that each woman handles her pregnancy differently but for me it was all I could do to keep my eyes open until noon. I was easily exhausted and something about the Disney food gave me serious heartburn.

By the way Vettechick, we were there the same time frame. Did you get stuck in that deluge at the beginning of the week? We were in Epcot that afternoon and got SOAKED! My husband was not happy. He was so unhappy that he nixed the next day's water park day because he was "tired of being wet".:lmao: The only thing that made it any better was being in the Biergarten drinking a beer and watching our 19 month old daughter dance the polka with her brother. He was fine after that.

I would say it depends on the type of pregnancy you are having this time. How do you feel? Are you regularly active? If so, then go for it! I went hiking in Wyoming when I was 6 months pregnant and felt great, but clearly would never have done that with a tough pregnancy. No need to sit at home with your feet up if you feel good, have the stamina and are active. Just listen to your body, rest when you need to, and follow the pace that your body is 'suggesting'. ;)
