Do Transferred Points Keep Original UY?

I can't remember and couldn't find answers in a search here; I'd like to avoid a costly mistake.

Considering purchasing some points via a member transfer to cover a 2013 extended family trip.

Can I buy/transfer 2013 points into my 2013 UY from another member with a different UY (but same home resort)?

If the above is permissable, would the points keep the sellers' UY?

Yes....So if you own SSR and transfer BCV points into your account. You can use the BCV points at 11 months.

Just to clarify, the BCV points can only be used at BCV at 11 months, not SSR.

Correct.....

Transferred points retain their Use Year and Home Resort advantage.

In the past, that wasn't always the case and there use to be a lot of point morphing. But Disney has corrected that issue years ago.

Since the points retain their original UY, the banking deadline would also be based on the original UY.

but it's notaccording to MS this am.

I called to add 2 nights @ WDW using DVC points after our upcoming cruise (BCV SAB ) and posed the question re what banking window transferred points would follow.

I was told:

1) as a courtesy, members are permitted to use the rules for their month UY vs the actual UY from transferee. I asked why and was told so many members forget to bank transferred points, it's an accommodation that is granted.

2) regardless of when banked, the points do still follow their original UY and if banked must be utilized by that expiration date.

I've never had points transferred in. I would ask them if that rule deviation is written down and could you get a copy of it. Maybe you could send them an e-mail and see if you get the same response. That way you would have a name and correspondence that says what they told you.

If I had points transferred in, I would hate to call to bank them based on my UY and have that CM tell me it's too late.
