Do they still take fax requests?

It's been 16 months since our last trip and things seem to change so quickly at WDW.

I thought I read that they don't accept fax requests anymore (ya know, when you sent them 3 to 4 days prior to arrival). What is the correct way to send it now?

We faxed Pop 4 days prior to arrival (August) and got exactley what we wanted...good luck.

A lot of the resorts have asked that you not fax the resort with your requests. The faxes have been going into the trash. Just make your requests with CRO when you make your reservation. Or call them back to add them if you didn't do it earlier.

You should call the resort directly 3-4 days out with your request. That's what I have been told on previous trips.

There doesn't seem to be a consistent policy, based on what people report on this and similar threads. On our upcoming November trip, for the first time I am NOT faxing a request. I stated my room preference with CRO. I will be anxious to see what I get.

Based on what friends that work for Disney have shared, it is best to have CRO note them on your reservation, then they are definitely seen when the reservation is downloaded into the resort computer system.

If you fax, someone "might" pass the fax on to the room assignment team and then they "might not".

Many resorts were being overwhelmed by the the large volume of faxes coming in and the length of many of them. They really did not have time to read through all of them.

I did note on my ressie. However, in year's past I always faxed and last year I wrote a whimsical note and, lo and behold, we were upgraded to tower room at Contemporary. That's why I ask.
