Does anyone sing Happy Birthday when they bring you a cake at a restaurant? Just wondering, as I've never heard it mentionned.

They did at LTT when we were there on DMIL's b-day.

I had preordered an expensive cake. Upon our arrival, the table was decorated & cast members & characters stood at our table singing "Happy B-day" when the cake was brought out.

At Rose & Crown they sung Happy Birthday to my DD. She did also get a cake and a signed card from the waiters/waitresses. Very nice gesture. We didn't even mention it. She had on her Birthday pin. :goodvibes

At O'Hana's for breakfast, we hadn't gotten my Dad a birthday pin yet and we were walking in with a gift for him. The hostess noticed and asked who's birthday it was. She gave us all lei's (to signify that we were "celebrating" something) and then gave him a signed picture of all the characters with a card that said Happy Birthday. They didn't sing, but A) my Dad's in his 50s and probably would have killed us and B) it was breakfast. It was a nice gesture, something he appreciated, but they didn't go overboard.

They sang to me at the Crystal Palace (breakfast), Cape May Cafe (dinner) and LeCellier (lunch) last year and this year my girlfriend had her birthday and they sang to her at Cape May Cafe for breakfast.

So they sing to you even without a cake ordered? You all sound like you had lovely birthdays!

I have ordered a cake for DH's b-day and was wondering if they just bring it out without fanfare. I guess they'll be singing or something. Sounds good!

We did DDs at Crystal palace and they did nothing except bring the cake (oh, and they had a few pieces of confetti on the table). She turned four, and I thought they would have one or two characters come over speically, but they didnt. Our waitress aid they weren;t allowed near the cake on account of their fur (fire....). We did get a card signed too. I forgot that.
My son's birthday was celebrated at WCC and they did sing there...they made the enitre restaurant sing, but its pretty rowdy there anyway. Other than that and bringing out the cake, they didn't do anything.

At Crystal Palace, for my daughters 3rd birthday, instead of singing Happy Birthday, a server asked her favorite character. She said Cinderella. She then proceeded to sing "A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes" in perfect character voice. It was phenomenal.

Oct 2006 we had dinner at CM for my b-day, I ordered a cake (we had 2 nieces with us so mostly it was for them) and when it was brought over by the waiter all the characters came over and they all "sang" to me. The waiter started it and then the other diners around us joined it.

Spent last week (my b-day again) at WDW and just about everywhere they presented me with a sundae or slice of cake but no one sang, except at Fultons where we had 3 lively 80 somethings behind us that had to sing to me and they had the entire bar area singing to me, I was beet red!

Last year, when DH and I went to Chefs de France...for lunch....I was wearing my birthday button. 5-6 servers came over to sing happy birthday to me in french. They also comp'd me an awesome birthday dessert.
Matter of fact....I rec'd several b-day desserts that day.

And when we entered Epcot, at the gate, one of the CMs came over and asked me my name, and said there is a phone call for you. She handed me her utility phone and Mickey was on the other end singing happy birthday to me...what a great surprise, that I will always remember!!

1) Sometimes they sing to you.
2) Sometimes they do not sing to you.
3) All depends upon
. . . mood of the CM's during that meal
. . . how busy the restaurant is at that time
4) Be prepared for no singing, and be pleased if it comes.

I was with a DISer who was celebrating her 60th birthday two weeks ago. At Tusker House during breakfast, the server brought her a cupcake but didn't sing. At Crystal Palace for dinner, the server brought her a cupcake and led the entire restaurant in a chorus of "Happy Birthday." It depends on the server. :)
