Do They Serve Peanuts On Independence Air?

I've booked June flights on Independence Air. My DS (10) has a peanut allergy. We've flown before on USAirways, Southwest, United and have never had problems but if an airline serves peanuts, I do ask that they remove them for our flight. Just wondering if anyone can tell me what they serve before I decide to hang on the phone for awhile with customer service at FlyI.

Thanks!

I have flown Independence several times in the last few months. They usually have a basket filled with cookies, pretzels, chips and nutri-grain bars.
I have never seen any peanuts in the times that I have flown.

Think I'd call and ask that if they have them that they remove them. Better safe than sorry!

I would call them as well, if the allergy is that serious, I would want the info straight from the airline, and not from us (even though there are some very knowledgeable folks around here).

I have contacted them and am awaiting a response; however, I wanted some "passenger" experiences also.
Thanks.

When we flew Independance it was a basket with nuti-grain bars and some type of cookie (maybe oatmeal??). We don't have any allergy problems so I don't pay that much attention.

Thanks, as long as they weren't passing out a bag of peanuts to each passenger, that's all I'm concerned about. I don't care if some of the snacks "may contain" nuts--that's fine.

They bring around a basket of chips, cookies and stuff and let you select what you want. I don't know if there were peanuts in the basket. I don't like them and wouldn't have selected them.

In case anyone is interested, my response from Independence. Good news from the peanut allergic:

Thank you for contacting us Christine,

On your flight to and from Orlando, we do serve complimentary beverages and a small snacks. Our meals and snacks are peanut-free.

Thank you for choosing in Independence Air and have a great flight!

Best regards,

Thats good news DW has peanut allergy and when we flew Continental from Newark to Orlando when we asked about not having peanuts on the plane they shrugged their shoulders and said there was nothing they could do. DW had to spend some of the flight with a handkerchief over her mouth and nose!
