We don't drink much at all, but when on vacation we sometimes like to have a cold beer with dinner, especially with food like barbecue style. Does Whispering Canyon Cafe serve beer? It wasn't listed on the menu that I looked at, but neither was Coke so...... Just curious.

Yes, WCC does serve beer! I also had an awesome Margarita of the Day there in December - wish I remembered what was in it!

Bud and Mich Ultra on draft. Amstel Light, Anchor Steam, Corona, Bud Light, Miller Light, Heinekin, Coors Light among others in a bottle.

Was it the Mixberry Margarita or the Cactus Margarita?

Oooohhh I can't remember! :( I do know it was delicious! I looked at the receipt, and it just said Marg of Day. If I remember correctly, it was on a Saturday night - does that make a difference? I'm thinking maybe the Cactus (?) for some reason.

Do you remember if it was green or red/purple in color?

Okay, so obviously it wasn't the cactus! :o It was reddish in color! Last night I was in bed thinking I bet it was the Mixberry not the Cactus! :p I do remember the souvenir glass and drinking every last drop!;)

Sounds like the Mixberry. Little Chamboard and Blackberry brandy. YUM!

Thanks so much for helping me figure out the drink! Since you have been so helpful, now I am wondering if you have the recipe quantities to share? It sounds so yummy - I'd love to make up a batch!

Thanks suzannews!

Back to the original question..................Yes they serve beer........but such a disappointment on our last trip was the fact that they no longer serve the Honey Brown Lager...............

On every trip I would eat the Ribs with 1 or 2 (OK, 6 or 7) Honey Browns.......
and now its gone..........and they brought in that Ultra (low carb) garbage............................sooooooo disappointing..........

Funny thing--at our local Macaroni Grill they used to have Honey lager. Guess what they replaced it with--yep. Ultra!!
And at another restaurant, the had a fine Marzen. Guess what that was replaced with?? Right again--Ultra.
Pretty sad. I had a trial sip when one of our friends ordered one a few weeks back--tasted like pale yellow water.
Even sadder if they follow suit at Artist Point, where they (last time we were there) had a Honey Lager on draft.
Don't care much if they offer Ultra or not--lots of folks appear to drink it. BUt please don't toss out good beer just to get that on the list:mad:

Uncle Rom,

"Pale Yellow Water".........................absolutely.................

I actually ordered the Ultra in one of those "1/2 yard" souvenier glasses the last time we were at the WCC, because, as I recall, I didn't care for any of the other draft beers that they had there..........I don't want to say that I "choked it down" simply because I paid for it, but it was a serious disappointment.............

Anyways, glad to hear that I'm not the only one who misses it......I'm still gonna eat the ribs though..............
