Do they have decent sushi?

Is there anywhere within the Disneyworld compound where I can get good sushi for myself and something a little less exotic for my finicky wife but at the same place? There just isn't much in the way of tasty Japanese food in Nebraska so I'm excited about the prospect of getting some of my favorite food on a plate in front of me.

If it's just sushi and fish related things I guess she can have a Coke and watch me eat.

I've never been to Disneyworld so keep that in mind when using all those fantastic little acronyms you guys seem to have for everything.

DH is a "sushi snob" and has declared Kimono's at The Swan as having the best sushi he has ever had. On our trip last June, he went there one evening (while the rest of us went to AK) and ate $100 worth of sushi (and that was AFTER his 20% DVC discount !). He was a happy man after that .

If you can get a table at the California Grill, they have an amazing sushi chef. I too have heard good things about Kimono;s but have yet to try it. The new Tokyo Dining in Epcot has an extensive sushi menu (as well as other Japanese cuisine)- they just reopened so i have not been yet, I have an ADR for our upcoming January trip

My vote is for California Grill!! Yoshi makes AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS sushi and there are plenty of other yummy "non-fish" things for your wife to eat.

Another vote for Cali Grill, however I haven't tried Kimono's yet!

Kimonos is a sushi bar so you will have much more variety to choose from than if you go to California Grill. I'm not knocking the sushi at CG because what we've tried there is very good, but they can't compete with Kimonos if what you really want is sushi.

I'm not even a huge fan of sushi ... but I'd still tell you to go to Kimonos (located in the Swan). Just remember, they don't accept reservations there and they don't open until 5PM.

Kimono's is fantastic for sushi.
There is the new Tokyo Dining in Japan at Epcot. Lots of variety on that menu.
Have not been disappointed in Wolfgang pucks either.
Only had the sushi at CG once, it was good, but not my number place for sushi.

I, too, think Kimono's is probably the best at WDW - certainly the most variety. However, there is not much variety for your wife when it comes to non-Japanese type foods. They do have tempura and some soups, but again, they are Japanese. If you want someplace with variety for both of you I would recommend CA Grill.

I think if your looking for a place that has both sushi and other food choices I would go with the California Grill or Wolfgang Puck's

We've chose to do Teppan Edo. We went on wdwinfo and found some pics of the other food choices offered there and DH was cool with what else they had. He doesn't do ANY seafood and is generally more pickier than I am.

My husband loves sushi and I, well, maybe would eat it if it was the last thing left on earth.
BUT I have to say I loved the Cali and Philly rolls at Wolfgang Puck's Cafe. The crab meat is sooooooooooo good. Your wife may eat some if you order it. Put they are pricey to order multiple rolls.

I was not aware the swan and dolphin had any sort of discounts that apply. I have DDE and would love to be able to use it. Is it only a DVC specific discount? Thanks
