We sailed last Xmas with our DD's (13 & 17) and it really was "magical".
Of course, the ship is beautiful and decorated up for Xmas.
The ship was preternaturally quiet xmas morning. I would normally get up and take my exercise walk on deck four from 630 - 730. By 7am the ship would be normally up and people moving about. Not that day.
Obviously, everyone was having there own Xmas with their families.
About 9 oclock everyone started to emerge.
All the little ones had the most amazing looks on there faces.
(OF Course Santa CAN find the ship. It does have the biggest Chimney you've ever seen).
More than any other time, the kids had on their Dis outfits. Princesses and pirates abounded.
In the Lobby was the Best Santa you ever saw. Kids lined up, not to tellhim what they wanted (it was already Xmas). but because he had a gift for every single person that came to him.
Santa had his helpers, like goofy and mickey, but today, Santa was the man.
That was the start of an amazing day. Things happened all the time.
What I remember most next was noticing the crew exchanging gifts among themselves. It made you realize this was our vacation but their home.
Later many crew told me about the tradition being maintained where on Xmas the Captain and the officers served the crew at their
DCL party.
Was it a great Xmas. Yes. It was worth every penny.
