Do they charge to park your car for onsite guests??

Last may I've stayed at the RPR for a few nights, and I was expecting to get charge for the parking because that is what the web site says, even at the entrance of the parking, so I went in, picked up the paper card from machine, the bar went up, parked. Then I was checking in the front desk lady asked me if I've parked at the hotel parking lot so I gave her the card, she ripped it off and told me "you won't be needing this anymore, use your room key to go in and out from now on".
I've checked the bill carefully and I didn't find any parking fees reflected on my bill at all. I think it is free for hotel guests.

.

I had the same exact thing happen to me...I thought it was a mistake so asked. No one seemed to want to do anything about it.

That was two years ago...this past year assuming the charge would be $15.00 per day (we stayed 7 nights) and what it cost for a rental car Christmas week. We took a limo both ways and rented a car for one day at the Hertz desk at the HRH and still had money left over. Not to mention it was the quickest I had ever gotten from the airport to the resort.:thumbsup2

Its definetly not free Don Pacho, you where just one of the lucky ones not to get charged

Well... maybe I was very lucky. When I've checked-out, the front desk guy reminded me of keeping the room key card to leave the parking lot. "you have an hour" he told me.
I think those parking fees mentioned are advertized on purpose to deceive people from parking at the on-site hotels because it is cheaper to park at the main parking garage.
Staying at the on-site hotels does not warrant you parking. I've self-parked and I've got there early so it was easy to find a spot. But if you arrive late, the parking lot is full so people start parking on the roads around the hotels.
What probably most people does is to use the valet, you tip the guy anyway, he'll park your car on the street because there is no room and he'll report all parking fees.

If I ever found out I had paid the valet to park my car and then found it on the street I would be livid. If I wanted it left on the street, I could have done that. Is there anything on the valet receipt stating they will put it in thier garage?

We stayed at the Portofino this past weekend. The charge was $15.00 plus tax for one night. We were told to use our room key as well, but we most definitely were charged. :rolleyes1

You use your room key to access the parking lot, and usually charged at the end of your stay, with charges added on to your biull.
If there is no room in the parking area across from the hotel, i usually drive straight on past the parking area, there is lots of spaces down past tower 1 which would be on your right side
