Do they already know what room we're staying in

I amde reservations yesterday at SSR for our Dec 26 thru 1-2 trip. I asked if we could have a dsesignated 2 BRDM instead of a lock of and she said that was what the room we are reserving was-designated and non-smoking. After hanging up I thought about what she had said and she told me that for sure the room I have booked was a nonsmoking designated 2 brdm. Instead of the usual-"we'll put it down but i can not be gauranteed" line. So with her statment I got to thinking does she know what room we will be in-ie the view and location since she knew the other specifics- will they tell me if I call?

they won't know the exact room until about 3 days before your arrival. NS is an easy one since most of them are non smoking.
It is my understanding that they don't assign lockoffs unless requested or they are out of designated 2 bdrm. units.

They have to assign lockoff or dedicated when you reserve otherwise they would not know how many lockoffs were available to split as studios and 1 bedrooms. They don't assign a specific room, just a category. Non-smoking is not guaranteed but as Gail said it's pretty likely you will get it.

Sometimes they pre-assign rooms prior to arrival and sometimes they assign them when you arrive. When we stayed at BWV last December, they said our room was preassigned. When we stayed at OKW earlier this month, they did not assign our room until we got there. Being that you are going at a busy time, they probably will pre-assign a couple days before.
