Do they allow camelbacks in the parks?

I wore mine in September 07 to Epcot & MGM, already filled with ice water before entering and had no problems. Never got the chance at Magic Kingdom as I got sick on my trip and we never made it there.

I have heard of people wearing camelbacks into the parks. Security will examine it on your way into the parks as they would with any other bag.

Keep in mind, they won't let you in with the whole camel. ;) :rotfl:

our entire family had one and we never had any trouble at all. They did check them at the security stands. We made sure that we filled them mostly with ice and then had a smaller amount of water. By the end of the day the ice had melted but was still cold- and that is great at the end of a blistering hot sumer day :thumbsup2

Yep, it was great having nice cold water. It also helped cool your back down when wearing it.

it's a backpack with a bladder that you can fill with water. there is a straw so you can drink out of it while you walk around.

i hope they still allow them. we bought some to use for this trip. i can't see why they wouldnt.

Yeah they do, we wandered around the parks with 3 camelbacks last july. Just like with any normal bag you have to get it checked at the security at the start

DH and i took one last year and we plan on taking one again this year. i'd put about 3-4 bottles of water in the fridge at night and then we'd fill up the bladder with them in the morning before we'd go to the park. we shared so we'd run out of water by around lunchtime, so we'd just fill it back up at a water fountain with cold water and be good to go again! worked great!!! the only part of the water that got warm was the part that sat in the straw, so DH had the job of sucking that out and "getting rid" of it, then the cold water would come out. better than spending $3 a pop for a bottle of water!

we were sitting in tomorrowland sipping out of it and eating a spicey cheese pretzel when a young male CM came up to us and asked what "that thing" was. we told him it was a camel pack and that we were drinking water out of it. he then asked if security had checked to make sure it was water. we told him no, they didn't even ask and he said, "wow....so you could bring in any liquid in that, huh? good idea!" so if you see a young male CM in tommorrowland wearing a camelpack and acting a little loopy, don't blame me that he filled his bladder with vodka! :lmao:

Too Funny!! :rotfl2:

I always recommend people purchase one of these beauties whenever the topic comes up. I've got a great one with two pouches that holds everything we need, including any pins we may purchase.

Hydrate or die. And we have considered putting vodka in ours.

kinda off topic (sorry) but last year we stayed at pop and we kept a bottle of rum in our room (in the fridge we rented). so the frozen coke machine and the refillable mug there was quite the hit when we added the rum to it!!! we're staying at SSR this time and i know i'm gonna miss that frozen coke machine!

Don't be, we've got a coupla great bars at SSR. We'll be there the first week of June.

The really great thing about SSR is I send the wife to the spa and I can either go golfing, or just hang out at On the Rocks and relax.

Plus, you'll get a better kitchen, more room for more drinks, freeze your own Coke.

This is somewhat related, but we prefer the Britta water bottles. They have a small Britta filter in them so you can refill throughout the park without that Florida water taste :) They have made many trips to WDW with us and are fantastic...one of my must haves!
