I think my husband would enjoy the memorabilia at the 50's Prime Time, but not so sure he would like being picked on while he is trying to eat. Do the waiters know when it is best not to start on someone, or do they have no mercy and stick it to everybody? !!

I've eaten there 4 or 5 times and the servers seem to be pretty good at reading a person's mood. I've noticed that generally when they come to the table to take our drink orders they'll call us "skippy" and "princess". Some times we've been receptive and gone along with it. Other times we've been hot and cranky and hungry and just kind of stared blankly at them. They backed off. I don't think it'll be a problem. Try the meatloaf or the fried chicken - YUM!

They are good at picking up on things... and, some waiters are much more playful then others. Both times we have visited, we did not have very playful waitresses, and were actually disappointed by that... but it was fun to watch some of the other ones get into the act.

You can always mention it when you check in that you would rather not have a very playful waiter, they will accomodate =)

We have always LOVED the food here, and the atmosphere is super cute!

I was really hoping for a fun waiter/waitress when I went to a DIS meet there but our waiter wasn't really into or else maybe he thought we weren't for some reason. We still had a good time though as we saw others being picked on and got to join in on some of it. It didn't seem like the restaurant was too rowdy that day so I'm sure that they just kind of read you and act appropriately. The food was really good and so were the milkshakes! Like others suggested, just let them know you aren't in a playful mood when you check in and I'm sure it will be fine. I love the atmosphere and think it's such a fun place that I'd hate to see anyone miss out on it. :)

We are the same way. We would like to try this place but none of us want to get picked on. By reading some of the previous postings, it sounds like sometimes some of them don't know when to give up. I would hate to have a waitress like that.

::yes:: We did MGM the day after MVMCP, and by lunch time, we were exhausted. The waitress noticed and didn't harrass us at all. We enjoyed watching her have fun with the tables next to us, though!

We eat here every visit and love it! Last year we brought my sister and her husband along. We were hoping to have a little fun with them but the waitress realized that my BIL was definitely not someone to mess with. The table next to us got it good so we just had fun watching them.

I was just there a couple weeks ago and it was a ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ fest! We've had some 'on-the-floor-belling-laughing-times' there, but this time was so boring! They weren't teasing anyone...it seemed that they just wanted to get us in and out of there as quickly as possible! Even the visit before this last one wasn't as fun as it has been in the past.
And the menu was also different this last time...apparantely they recently changed their menu a bit. :(

I hope you have a better experience there than I had this last time!

Maybe they're toning it down because of the people who don't want to be "picked" on. It's just all in good fun...and they nag more than pick.
