Do the wet suits really keep you warm at DC in December?

We are leaving for Orlando tomorrow and it looks like it will be a cool week next week. We have reservations at DC for the 17th and I'm worried that we'll be cold. Has anyone been when the weather has been in the upper 60's?

We were there in December two years ago. The temperature was about 60. The wet suits kept us reasonably warm but it was still a little chilly. When we were in the water it was nice but we cooled off whenever we were out of the water. The big problem was that we were not wearing shoes and the sand was quite chilly. You might want to invest in something to wear on your feet. Had we been wearing shoes, I think we would have been more comfortable.
