Do the WDW restaurants give free refills on drinks?

Here in Dallas we are totally used to being given free refills on non-alcoholic drinks at almost every restaurant we go to - sit down and fast food. What about the restaurants in the World? Free refills or is that another way to get more $$$ out of us?

The sitdown restaurants have free refills, the counter service restaurants do not.

I know what you mean missypie, when at wdw, you can't have a texas state of mind, and no there is not tea in every restraunt. Here is a little tip - when we go to a sit down restraunt, before we leave, I ask for a round of drink refills, (free) for the 5 of us, I then take all these drinks and we pour them into 2 rubbermaid chuggers that we take in our backpack around the park. We usually do this around lunch and then we are good for a few hours, or dinner, we are good till park close etc. Just make sure you get 2 or 3 of the same. That might help cut down on some of your drink expense. We really dont like the water so that is not an option for us. You could bring water if you want and like crystal light etc.

We were in Paris last year for Spring Break. We knew to carry water bottles with us. Of course, when drinking wine with lunch and dinner, we certainly didn't expect free refills. Also, there was no heat to contend with. I will admit that when I've been in Europe in the summer I've really really craved ice tea!

(BTW, we hope to take the family to the Netherlands if the dollar ever gets stronger. DH is Dutch on all four sides.)

So you have a real Dutch husband? I understand that the word Dutch doesn't have quite a positive meaning in English, but I am sure your husband gives the word Dutch a positive meaning for you.
BTW we do have icetea here in the Netherlands Not the homemade version, but you can get it in cans and bottles.
Hope you will be able to visit our country real soon.
And I hope that by that time they have learned some of that great American service here.....

All of DH's great grandparents came though Ellis Island early in the last century from the Netherlands. I've been to the Netherlands but that was before I was married to DH.

When we went in January, my North Texan DS's biggest disappointment was finding out he didn't get free refills at Artist's Pallette.

Oh and no ice to go with the drink. That was the funniest thing in Scotland, our hosts had to make ice cubes for the scotch and sodas. They looked at us like we were crazy when we asked for ice. We're lucky here in the US.

I didn't realize they had free drink refills at the sit downs. I guess I've been to focused stuffing my face with food that I didn't realize the server was refilling my glass

As far as taking the drink to go, I would do it if the server suggested it, and gave me the drink to me in a to go cup. With my luck, if I transferred it to a container the lid would probably come off during transit and spill all over my backpack.

Or unlucky. They put ice in everything here in Canada, completely watering it down. I have to ask for everything without ice.

Most, if not all, of the sit-down restaurants at WDW DO have ice tea (with free refills). You'll even find it at some counter service places. We like our ice tea north of the border too!

Maybe you can try the restaurant that are in buffet format. Crystal Palace in MK def'ly gives refill and lots to choice from and also Epcot's Garden Grill refill's your plate so often you forget that you are full hmmm there's another restaurant but I cannot remember as I type it is near the Liberty Bell in MK they do give refills for drinks. And maybe if you are staying on Disney property you cn purchase their refillable mugs!!!
