Do the shops in Morocco sell spices/condiments?

The last of the harissa I purchased in Paris is gone :sad1:. I can't find it locally. Amazon sells it, but not with free shipping, so it'll be the only option, unless I can find it at Epcot. Does anyone know if they have a 'food' section in Morocco? It seems the other countries do sell many food items (mostly candy).

FYI, (just in case anyone else is wondering), Morocco does have a small food shop area, with teas, spices, etc., and they had two different types of harissa. :thumbsup2

I'm going to have to look for that. I love to gather all kinds of ingrediants.

I have a really delicious recipe for harissa. If you are interested shoot me a pm.

Harissa is a Moroccan / African spice paste. I use mine in Tangines & with veggies, esp. zucchini. I love it so much, I often just spread it on bread with or without tzatziki type yogurt sauce.

The version I make has sambal, coriander, garlic, caraway, olive oil & cumin. Some versions use red bell pepper as well as red chilies & some have tomato paste. It varies from region to region.

Thanks for reporting back and answering your own question. I have never even thought to look for authentic spices in the World Showcase, I will certainly pick some up this trip!

Totally OT WDW, but please share how you make your harissa. I've never attempted to make it myself, I've always purchased it.

Here is a recipe that I got off the web a while back that uses harissa:

I've made it a number of times and it's delish and healthy and quick and easy. If you hold the cheese, it can also be vegan. If you don't care for kale, you can use spinach instead.
