Someone said that at Carribbean Beach (we are staying there) once overbooked and had to send the guest someplace else? Has anyone ever heard of this happening or had it happen to them? Thanks for the help!! :D

it is an industry standard : hotels, airplains, restuarants!

We tried to book a trip for our honeymoon and the only mod that was available was Carribean Beach. We went but did not care for CBR and have not been back since. So yes, resorts can fill up and become unavailable, and I am sure that they can overbook.

Also, CBR was revovated a couple of years ago. Anyone who had ressies had to pick another resort to stay at, some people got a very good rate to upgrade to a deluxe. This also happened right before the POFQ renovation.

Oh, BIG TIME YES! YES! YES! from me!

This last March at the height of spring break, we checked into the YC Concierge and was told our room wasn't ready...and they gave us our resort ID cards and we went to the Studios for lunch and some rides.

When we returned after 3 pm....our room had been "given away" and we had no room at the YC concierge!

After the GM of the resort came into the situation....we were moved over to the BC CL.....for our inconvenience, we were compensated with a dinner and a VIP seating at Epcot for Illuminations!

Turns our, our room at BC was very nice...and the same size as the YC's CL rooms.
The balcony was the only thing that was smaller.
Other than that, the lounge was nice, food offerings were very good and the CMs were great!

Just had to share...because it CAN happen!

Most definitely...
3 years ago we arrived at GF as thrilled and happy as can be...long story short, we were driven over in the house Caddie ;) to AKL (brand new at the time) where we spent one night in a sav. view room with no charge and our party of 4 was given 4 one-day ultimate park hoppers for our trouble. The next day we checked into GF around 11am and had no further problems...the hotel and overbooked BIG TIME b/c everyone checking in was being told the same thing - it was weird but worked out great for us.

We checked in to the POFQ on June 4. The Cm who checked us in said that they were overbooked by 2 rooms. It said it would affect those people checking very late that night.

Friends of mine were booked @ the CBR with a requests for a king bed. At check in they were told they did not have a room with a king bed available. They asked if they could get a room with a king bed elsewhere. They check & told them yes but it would be at Old Key West. They took it for the same discounted price of the CBR. They had never been to DW before so they didn't know what they were in for. When they were tranferred to
OKW they were pleasently surprised. The room she said was almost bigger then her very small house.

A friend of mine had POFQ ressies last summer when they closed it they were given the Poly for the mod rate. What a deal? We were there the same time but had booked a value. Wonder if this will happen to us this summer. We can only dream.
