Do strollers get stolen?

My mother is all excited to take our fairly expensive (but comfortable and great) umbrella stroller into the parks with us. I really worry about having to leave it unattended outside of attractions. Unfounded?

On the other hand (and it has been a few years since I have been to the parks and I wasn't a parent then), I seem to remember the rental strollers looking quite uncomfortable. Can kids actually nap in them?

We have taken strollers 3 times (twice two of them) and never had a problem. They have been moved at some rides. We have even left extra clothes with them and never had a problem with things going missing.

We have a peg perego aria twin & have taken it with us three times already & have had no problems w/ theft. Sometimes the CMs will move strollers, but ours hasn't been stolen...

Of course it is possible that your stroller could be stolen. But I do not think that is very likely to happen.

Taken a stroller on last 6 trips, left extra clothes, even some souvieners, and never had anything gone, including stroller.

I wouldn't worry about that happening, I guess it could but I've never heard of it and have known a great number of people that take very expensive stroller
and load them down with all kind of great loot, sweat shirts mugs, etc. and no
problems. I wouldn't leave cash laying on top, but other than that I say go for it. :cool1:

I hate to say it, but it does happen... It happened to us on our trip last March. Ours was a very inexpensive, very common style and it disappeared while we were in Mickey's Philharmagic one evening.

I really believe that someone just grabbed it thinking it was theirs - an honest mistake. Unfortunately, we never got it back (even after checking Lost and Found every day.), but for us it turned out that our son didn't really need it after all.

We had taken that same stroller on two previous trips without any problems at all, and if our son was still young/small enough to still need one, we would buy another one and take it this March. Even though it does happen - once in a great great while - I wouldn't worry about it. The rented strollers are hard plastic, and I'm sure your child would be more comfortable in their own.

Don't worry about it, and enjoy your trip!

We took our fairly expensive double with us in October and never had a problem. I left a luggage tag on it and had it tagged in one other spot just in case. If you have a common stroller I think it would be more likely, but with ours it stands out and was never touched!

We've used our personal stroller and rentals on many many trips. You should be safe. I'm sure there are some very isolated thefts, but overall uncommon. The main thing to be prepared for is that it is common practice for cast members to move the stroller from where you parked it. So when you first come out of a ride don't be surprised to have to look for a moment for it. They move them to keep them condensed to one area, so just don't panic.
Have a great trip!

We just went in December and brought our brand-new $200 Maclaren stroller with us. I had the same fears and posted about it. After being reassured, we did take it with us. The first day I was nervous about leaving it unattended, but once I saw the mass of strollers (many Peg Pergo's and Maclaren's mixed in) at each stroller parking area, I was at ease and just left it. There were a few instances where CM's did have to move it, but we always did find it! GL! Have fun!

With my luck I'd come back out of the ride and the strollerswheels would be gone and it would be up on blocks. :)
