My college friend (will call her Monica) and her new husband manipulated their flights and had an all day layover here in St. Louis. They were just married this past Valentine Day and this was the first time I met this guy. They wanted to do a little shopping so we took them to our local Mills Mall. Monica’s husband picked up several pieces of clothing with pink in them. He purchased a dress shirt (baby pink), and a tie with pink in it. He also purchased some 'kick around' shirts with pink stripes on them. Monica said that he loves pastel colors. My DH being the 'manly man' he is, was really tripping about this. He never said anything to his face but he whispered 'WTH' to me a couple times.

After we dropped them off at the airport he continued to go on and on about how 'gay' her husband was. Although I can tell that he's not a 'masculine' kind of guy, I wouldn't call him 'soft' either. He just seemed 'high-maintenance' to me. For example, when we picked them up from the airport we were shocked that he had 2 pieces of luggage. The pieces were his very expensive Louis Vutton luggage. According to Monica, he never checks his luggage (as he travels often). Now my friend checked her luggage in (she said she packed her clothes in their regular luggage). Now, I am NOT homophobic, nor is my husband, but we were just wondering is PINK in for men OR is it possible that this guy might be on ‘the down low’.

I wouldn't say that straight men can't wear pink. It is somewhat suprising, however, that this man is choosing all this pink for himself. Usually men seem to recieve pink clothing as gifts. I wouldn't think much of it, though.

Pink is in for men now.

All the 20 something guys I know wear pink - it is pretty 'in' at least here. I guess a lot of the guys I know are pretty metrosexual. They work out and take care of their grooming.

My 30-something DH doesn't wear pink (at least I can't think of any obviously pink clothing) but his 20-something best friend does and he is definitely not gay or on the DL. He is single and you should see the women this guys pulls...they throw themselves at him.

My DH wears pink. I rarely see it on my gay friends though.

I know straight guys who wear pink. If he's on the down low, how would you really know:confused3

i'm 40.. and not a gay male, and i wear pastel. i wear pink, light green, even a few yellows, i actually wear them to work at lowes , with my kakhis, and my sales go up when i wear htem as opposed to classic blue or brights

My BIL wears pink to weddings and such, and I saw it last weekend worn by several HOT Italian men at a wedding. My DH would not, as he is into dark and neutral tones...I like it..:)

as stated pink is completely accepted by straight men, ecspecially in more metropolitan areas:cutie:

Yep my brother who is pretty stereotypical masculine (firefighter, boater) wears pink and lighter pastels often -- really looks good on him.

My dad has several pink shirts... and I'm a bit of living proof that he's quite the straight fellow.

DH is in his mid-forties and has been wearing pastel pink button down shirts for at least 20 years. He also has a pale lavender shirt that he wears.
Suits him, pale skin, black hair, green eyes. He's not hung up on colors.
The colors he favors most are the sombre colors: black, olive, charcoal.
I do buy most of his clothes, but if he doesn't like something he has no problem telling me.

As for his lugguage: One bag carry on, LL Bean from the LL Bean outlet :rotfl:

My step-FIL is a very big guy--6'7". He's a former pro golfer, and yes, he wears pink. He's so masculine, physically and personally, that I would be absolutely shocked if he were gay. I think it's just the old-school golfer thing to wear pastels; the man wears some funny outfits sometimes.

Im 28, straight and I refuse to wear pink in anything...sorry I just dont think that color goes well on men.

My ex-gf bought me a baby blue polo shirt also, that I never wore...maybe thats why she's my ex now? :confused3

My son's favorite color is pink, he owns Barbie dolls, and even baby dolls and a doll bed and stroller. He spent all day Monday carrying around a stuffed Baby Mickey like a real baby. He is just destined to be gay.

PLEASE. :sad2:

Of course straight men wear pink. People wear what colors they like and look good on them. Not everyone is hung up on some arbitrary gender definitions.

Does anyone wonder when a woman wears blue? :confused3

Well you guys I finally did it, DH has finally read the Disboards. He read this thread and said he doesn't care what you guys write, according to him, men in pink is 'Liberace Gay':rotfl: 'Liberace Gay' is his way of saying that men wear pink for the attention and we know Liberace was flashy. - He actually wanted to respond under my name. I told him to register and respond himself. He just better NOT tell anyone he is my DH:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

I couldn't resist adding a few pictures of Liberace.
