Do rooms ever open up right before the sail date?

We are booked for a cat. 9A on the June 21 sailing of the Dream, but now we see the large portholes in the cat. 8 rooms and want to upgrade. The problem is there are none available. So, my question is, does Disney ever open up rooms right before the sail date?

Those sailing are really full but you best luck would be to look around 75 days out when full payment is due. You know there will be some cancellations at that time - hopefully there will be one in the category you are looking for.

Sometimes you can get an upgrade on the day of the sailing when you check in. We did this once for just a few hundred dollars.

The above posts reflect the most likely times for rooms to open--right before the final payment date when some people may choose to cancel, about the 30-45 day mark when DCL does any shuffling around to place GTY bookings in rooms, and at the port.
