Do Resorts Do Anything “Special” for Holidays?

Hi there! We are looking at staying at WDW 24-26 December after our Dream cruise and we were wondering if the resorts do anything special “the day of” the holiday?
We know the resorts are decorated and there is a gingerbread display in some, but is there like a Christmas Dinner menu somewhere? Or does Santa Goofy/Mickey make an appearance?
Trying to decide for what to do the day of, or just stay in the parks.

Many restaurants offer special Christmas menus and, pre-covid, characters would make appearances in their holiday costumes. It's hard to know what will happen during the holidays this far in advance. If you would like to avoid park crowds, touring the deluxe resorts and seeing the decorations is fun. We also really enjoy the private horse-drawn sleigh rides at Ft. W to see the amazing RV decorations (you would need to call and book this in advance as they typically sell out).

Just about every restaurant will have a special Christmas dinner on the menu! And all the resorts do special Christmas Eve and Christmas Day activities. I have a few activity calendars and menus from this past Christmas just to give you an idea of the kind of activities that will be happening.

Various resorts have musicians and other performers leading up to Christmas. I've seen some wonderful performances then.

There have been all sorts of acrobats and other performers in the parks at Christmas. Hopefully, the pandemic will have lessened enough by then that they'll be hired and invited back. Those from other countries are really enjoyable oftentimes.
