I just read some where that Park Hoppers don't expire - is this true? does this make any sense? How would that even work?

They do not expire if they are not used. Once used, the base tickets expire 14 days after 1st use unless you purchase the no expiration option. That option is expensive enough that it usually does not make sense financially to purchase it unless you have a 10 day ticket and you can get at least 2 trips out of, e.g. one 7 day trip and one 3 day trip.

This is correct and you could add the Waterparks and more option to help stretch it into at least two trips. The waterparks part could be used for years if you only use one or two days per trip (you get the same # as the park ticket)

I'm not getting the hoppers but we are looking at getting the 10 day water parks and more non expire tickets. We go to the beach 90 mins. from Disney and we are thinking about adding a day onto our trip and spending the night at Disney on the way home. By getting the 10 day water parks and more I can save close to 1000. We need 8 days worth of tickets next year. We would then have 10 days of water parks or Disney Quest and two park days to use how we wanted any time. We have done one day trips in the past so this will save us in the long run. We could make this last for 20 years if we only used it on the way home from Pass-a-Grille each year. :rotfl2:

Something that has not been mentioned but might be a moot point is that if they are something like over 10 years old ( maybe more like 15... ) then they do not expire, but you will probably need to go to guest services and trade them in for a more current ticket. Tickets did not USED to expire at all. like a decade ago ( man I'm old! ) the system was changed so that if you didn't want them to expire, it cost a premium.
