Do not buy this product!!!!!!

Are you sure that the product casued the washer to get off balance and break?
Or was it a coincidence, that the product was in there when the washer got off balance and broke?
I would thing that it was a conincidence, a frustratting one, but a coincidence.

I use something similar for softner and never had an issue. I too think it may have been a coincidence. Sorry I hate shopping for appliances.

honestly, no I do not think it was a coincidence. The load with not unusual. The only thing unusual was the detergent ball.

I am seriously ticked off because my dryer quit working last Sunday and the new one just got here yesterday.

I also used a fabric softener ball and never had a problem. Sorry that you had an issue.

I have a Downy ball, and have had no problems at all. I have a cheaper top-loading washer. It's 7 yrs old. But maybe that thing is kind of heavy?? I am thinking maybe coincidence unless you found the ball stuck somewhere?? Arrrgh, I'd be frustrated too!

That said, my previous washer had stopped spinning at one point. I internet-searched washer repair ideas. Turned out it had just tripped a switch or something. All we did was reset the GFI on the outlet, and check the circuit breaker box. Good as new. Maybe you can google and find some simple things to try, before calling out the Big Guys!

If you have a front loader YES it will throw the machine out of balance. Just wondering if it mentions anything about front loaders in the product instructions? :confused3

What about shoes and stuff like that? I put heavy clunky stuff in my washer all the time. If your dryer just broke it is possible the washer has just seen its day as well.

I looked at the link provided in the OP, and it does specifically say it can even be used in High Efficiency frontloaders.

I guess it would be rather like putting shoes in there, which I do all the time in my toploader...it does not throw it off balance. Hmmmm. Still frustrating for the OP I bet.
