Do most people change rooms on back to back?

I just had the urge to make my Wish sailing this December longer. Our room shows as not available for the previous or next cruise. Do most back to backers change rooms?

Hard to say if "most" do. I know we didn't on our first B2B (although we were originally booked in different rooms - DCL changed one of them to match the other). Our second B2B we were in different rooms, different decks, but same category.

We have done B2Bs 3 times and have another one booked for next year. We always keep the same room. I feel changing rooms defeats the best part of doing B2Bs...not having to back up that first last night. ;)

We did our first B2B last year and had different staterooms on different decks, but still loved it. We had the better stateroom (bigger verandah) and better stateroom attendant first, so the 2nd cruise was a bit of a downgrade.

Hours after debarking the 2nd cruise, we booked an additional cruise this year to do another B2B. We also changed the stateroom on the first booking to be the same as the second booking so we don't have to switch. We're very excited to not have to switch.

This is our situation. We’ve done B2Bs 3 times, along with one B2B2B. We’ve kept the same room each time. In fact, I doubt we’d book a B2B unless we could get the same room for both legs. Since we are usually booking at cruise release and have to call to apply placeholders, we’re talking to a cast member to book. I usually check availability to identify a stateroom in our preferred category and area of the ship while waiting on hold to talk with a cast member. I don’t actually click on the preferred room, since that can take it out of inventory while I wait.

You might try calling. The website only shows a selection of staterooms, not all possible open rooms.

We specifically chose the same stateroom, or rather I should say that our TA called and made sure that we had the same room. I'm not sure it would have been as easy for us to do ourselves on the website. I truly hate packing so I'm not sure how happy I'd be with a B2B where I had to pack after the first leg unless I was doing two 7-days.

I would prefer to have the same stateroom, but it wouldn’t be a dealbreaker to change cabins!

Our next B2B is in different rooms. We’re moving to concierge for the 2nd cruise, didn’t want to pay it for both.

We will see how it goes.

I am doing a B2B2B solo and will have three different rooms. I am not too worried about it. The first and last are the same GTY category, but the middle cruise is a chosen stateroom with a higher category. I booked the last cruise first and originally had a different plan. Besides packing, it really won't be an issue. It ended up being such a good deal that I am willing to move. Although, ask me again at the end of the 14 days...lol

Always same room for us. And we use the day to do an excursion of some sort. We don't do the get-off-get-back-on thing. (Never been PC, that might be a ship day).

I’ve done it three times and only once had the same room 😂 All three times I’ve gone down the *GT rate route though and added on to the original cruise I had booked.

I second the suggestion to call. We were able to book a room that was showing as not available for a cruise this November through our TA. So either a TA or CM might be able to get you that room even if it shows as not available.

We did our first B2B in September and actually weren't supposed to change rooms, but due to some technical problems we ended up moving 3 times... Not bad for 19 days on board, but they DID all happen within about 3 days of each other. Soooo that was crazy. But honestly? It didn't bother us much. And our bags showed up in our rooms WAY earlier than all the other guests. Our stateroom hosts were VERY accommodating to try to get the least amount of packing for us possible as well. :)
